Yukirin and Nikaido Takashi of Johnny's group Kis-My-Ft2 will perform a highly difficult dance representing a love story of a boyfriend who has passed away but still looks over his girlfriend (it requires neither person to make eye contact with each other):



Zukkii and Naru will perform a song together:



Zukkii will also appear in a dance based on Matsutoya Yumi's song 'Midsummer Night's Dream' where the theme is "a modern version of Cinderella where a girl gets lost in an adult town". Zukkii will play the role of 'Cinderella'.

For anyone who doesn’t know, the various ___ Girls Collection runway shows are having a renaissance right now and the social media hype around them is HUGE. It’s one of the most sought out modeling jobs in the entire country rn so anyone who models for the show is being presented to thousands of young women. It’s a great way to re-create interest with the general public. Another reason why Erii is a great choice for a push. If the audience shows interest, this opportunity opens Erii, Naamin, and AKB as a whole to so many potential brand deals.

 

I just saw that Akimoto was forming a new "global national" girl group in collaboration with Avex to rival Nogizaka.

I doubt if this will work. SMJ contributed a lot to the success of Nogizaka. Avex surely cannot wield the same power. Neither its vision is trustworthy seeing how many popular girl group, or any group at all, Avex has created in the past decade.

Also, it is skeptical if he still has what it takes to make a massively popular girl group seeing lackluster marketing performances of Last Idol and Coinlocker. The Japanese idol landscape may have changed and, Akimoto surely does not have the ability to adapt to the changed market. He just reused his old schtick with "rival" bullshit. Of course, Nogizaka has declined after a decade but, Nogizaka is not the sole dominator of the market at the moment.

Of course, it is not Avex without "global" ambition.

I find this very overestimating. These girls are just 2 out of dozens girls striding on that runway. To believe a significant effect is definitely is not realistic. Besides, are not they multiple TGC events each season since the brand has expanded to other Japanese cities?

Also, I think much more has to be done to capture the heart of young adult/adolescent Japanese girls. Like, if you want to attract TGC's audience to AKB48, the group should make members wearing fashionable stage costume instead of typical seifuku. This in turn means new stylist and beautician teams. The image of the group overall must be overhauled, from ojisan catering group to be more female youth friendly. I don't think the existing ojisan wota will be pleased. It is questionable if DH/Vernalossom has the know-how to attract female market to begin with.
