Graduation announcements thread

March-April is drawing near (end/start of academic year in Japan), so expect another rush of graduations from all groups.

 

Team N Mizokawa Mirai announced her graduation today during the Cattleya show, she wants to focus on her studies

wasn't expecting some younger members like Yuutan or Mirai tho

 

Tanaka Yuka!? OMFG..... She's doing so well. I was just gonna post bout how IDT HKT will have many graduations since they have a good number of members right now.

 

Team E Ichino Narumi has just announced at theater that she'll graduate next month.

EDIT: Team H Ui Mashiro announced graduation today at her seitansai.

I don't think so... besides the one who graduated yesterday and the one who has announced graduation, the others who might quit because they are graduating high school are
Ueno Haruka, Toyonaga Aki, Tashima Meru, Fukagawa Maiko, Yamauchi Yuna, Murakawa Vivian, Tsukiashi Amane, and Matsuoka Hana

But, really-- Matsuoka Hana is not going to be allowed to leave even if they have to lock her in a room every moment she isn't on stage. Same is true for Tashima Meru and Toyonaga Aki to a somewhat lesser extent.

I really think Vivian loves being in HKT48 way too much. No one sends out as many 755, Twitter, or Instagram messages and only Maria is on Showroom more often, I think. It seems like if she weren't in the group, she would just go full on Otaku and lock herself in her room and watch video and play computer games all day and all night for the next decade.

Anyone from 4th gen quitting at this point would just seem very weird. I don't know what they could possibly have expected to happen in their first year and a half that they would be disappointed with their progress enough to walk away right now. But, I guess it isn't impossible.

So right now Fukugawa Maiko, Ueno Haruka and Yamauchi Yuna are the only ones that seem possible from HKT48.

In fact, now that Maiko has centered a song in the top 25 in Request Hour but has little chance of ever getting to be center again or even getting to be in the senbatsu in general, now might be a great time for her to leave on good terms.
And with the last member of I4U leaving, it kind of seems like Ueno might be very likely.

I don't know anything about Yamauchi Yuna, so I couldn't say whether she seems likely.

 

Thank you for the analysis izuka-tengu-san. It is very in-depth! 3 is still a lot too me. I worry for girls who have been around for a long time like Shinamon, Serina and even Aanya? Omo... My kokoro hurts. I love HKT.

 

Sashihara and Sakura won't let Anna leave. It might even be better for Anna if she leaves because it practically costs her more to have an apartment in Fukuoka than she actually makes from being a member of HKT48. She was forced to pay her family's expenses back when they were giving her jobs to do and now that they haven't for a few years, her family moved back to Yamaguchi and left her to pay the rent on an apartment for a family of 5 by herself. Though she won't admit it-- half the reason she didn't go to college is because all the money she had made in her first several years in HKT48 was already gone and nothing was put away to at all allow her to do that.
She can't even afford to purchase wifi so that she can do the showrooms and maybe make some money from that. Though, likelihood is that even if she did do showroom every day, she gets such a small percent of what gets spent in it that it wouldn't even cover the cost of the wi-fi. She only does them when she goes back to Yamaguchi.
But Sakura has already threatened to quit if Anna does.

I don't know nearly as much about Shinamon or Serina's situations. Though I doubt it is much better.

But, as things are, HKT48 doesn't have nearly enough work. It has WAY too many members and only gets job offers enough to keep maybe a third of them busy. The rest may well be spending more than they are making just being in the group. They just put out an album and couldn't even manage to get every member a new song!

Honestly, the whole AKB48 group has kind of ruined itself. Its lost most of its shows, its members don't appear nearly as often outside of their own TV shows... all groups become passe after they pass a certain time frame, but no planning was done to keep them new and relevant-- instead, the last few years they have been just following the same yearly schedule.

The songs are generally far too childish and simple to appeal to the teens and twenties crowd.
The competition to do ever more degrading and pornographic gravure and the whole "girlfriend experience" those who become top members provide has caused them to become "kimoi", "hentai" and generally not kid-friendly at all.
Every time a top member graduates, some portion of the current fanbase is lost. But they have no avenue left to sell their new members to anyone but the remaining current fanbase... which means fans abandon members for the new girls or the new girls get no fans. And yet, despite this ever shrinking fanbase, the company insists on recruiting more and more and more members and adding more and more groups-- not just replacing those who have gone, but exponentially increasing the total size of the company.
And, really, they only have enough media bandwidth to make about 10 members actually, truly matter and be recognizable across the whole fanbase. Maybe, really, less than that as they have continually banked on the same shrinking handful of girls for the past 5 years and it is difficult to point to 10 members who have fully gotten over since 2013.

So, at this point, if the older members who clearly aren't ever going to be given any kind of real shot at doing anything, for whom HKT48 is paying less than doing any other job they could be doing and is absolutely never going to lead to anything better after it because no one who has anything for them could really have ever noticed them during their tenure within it...

Maybe graduating would be the best thing for them to do. And that doesn't just go for HKT, it is probably way more true for AKB48 and NMB48 which are situated in far more expensive areas to live in. It is very likely that half the members of all of the groups should probably seriously consider graduating... because rather than building a future like they were promised, they are probably killing their chance at any kind of a real future all over empty promises.

OMG IKR! I WAS SO MAD ABOUT THIS. I absolutely agree with you but I think that HKT is maturing tho. I loved How To Kiss Me Someday Love Me and I don't think it sounds that much like a nursery rhyme. 4th gen are full of pretty girls like my favourite ODA and Amane and they don't exactly push children anymore.
