I just watched JKT48's 5th Anniversary concert which included Haruka's Graduation and the thing that struck me the most was the fact that it seemed to have been held in a really small venue? There couldn't have been no more than a few thousand people at most!

The stage was massive and the audience seemed to be scattered around it. Have JKT simply lost all popularity in Indonesia?

Compared to their first few exciting and productive years the whole thing just felt a little desperate and a bit sad

It was very sad that no one from AKB turned up.

they're too niche. Nowadays, if you want to be big in indonesia you either go full high quality in talent and songs, or you go dangdut. idol group kind of acts never worked in indonesia, except if the idol group have insanely talented members, like AB3, kahitna, and the latest trio lestari, if you miming in every live performances you can say goodbye to relevancy, not to mention the translated lyrics of akb48 songs are most of the times sounds weird

 

@Ririka it's held outside jakarta in expensive venue with high ticket pricing while most jkt fans are students. Put that into the equation.

 

Sorry if my English is a mess.But I think JKT48 now REALLY NEED a original single.Becausea lot of people are tired with JKT48bsince they are only wearing AKB48 song that's been changed to indonesian.JOT in the selection of the member or the new generation must also be viewed in terms of talent not only from a physical standpoint.

 

No, what they need more is better and more interesting production and/or gimmicks that will sell to Indonesian audience. I believe there are a lot of flexibility in Japan48's discography to showcase JKT48 girls' talent. The management is just ain't upto it. Look at what SNH48 did before original songs, they were creative. JOT is just isn't as much. Original single will have little impact if the management stays as is.

 

I agree with your opinion.Jkt48 was indeed need a gimmick and high creativity.They could do what SNH48 do.But unfortunatelyJKT48, specifically JOTdidn't have a huge money lol.Unlike SNH48 which have a huge costand sponsorship.But somehow I have a feeling that JKT48 will be a little bounce when BNK48 and MNL48 debut already.Somehow.Lol
