Are you serious? you shouldn't do that, after you eat a lot, you should NEVER lie down straight away, it messes with your insides, and does weird things to you.
dr.akb48, i'm afraid i will no longer seek your advice for my life problems

^ Hey! Health problems are important too! [shock]
If your health dropped to zero, you'd be dead. And dead = no more life. Big problem there. :fear:

How long ago did you drink? If it wasn't too long, try to induce vomiting.
But going to a lecture drunk was pretty fun tho as I remember. XD
If it was from the previous night, have another drink, the best way to combat a hangover is by being (a little bit) drunk again. :^^;:

Stay standing. Have a coke. =S

Haha okay, I will take this seriously.

I'm really bad at keeping [my own] secrets so I let it slip to one of my friends that I am pretty into AKB as of recently. Before, I was really sort of disdainful (because of Heavy Rotation, etc) so she knew about it from that time and was like "...but aren't their videos really creepy?" I tried to explain that most of their videos aren't like that but I'm not sure how much she believes me :^^;: I tried to send her my favorite video to prove my point (Rinjin) and then she was just like "I can't believe you downloaded their videos" ...it was a no-win situation haha. I thought maybe I would get the benefit of the doubt since I'm a girl, but I'm pretty sure I look like some kind of pervert now :fp:

edit: I guess this isn't much of a life problem but it was a little distressing so... :p

:D My sister says that too.. But all I do is just play along and say 'Yup! I am' and laugh it off. I mean if your friend wont believe you then just go along with her.. Or you could tell her that lots of other girls like AKB as well and that doesn't make all girls and boys that like AKB perverts (not that I know of) :p

In a sense it is a tad bit perverted that we stalk young girls, and fantasize about them. But it's something widely socially accepted amongst the Japanese community.

I mean theres no doubt about the fact that we are a bit perverted in a Gaijin's view point, but from a Japanese persons view point who knows about AKB48 and/or idol groups it really isn't that bad. Consider this, you're a Gaijin who has no idea about Japanese culture and you see a short asian teen looking at bikini photos of a young girl. What's your first impression? I'd say that the "Gaijin's" first impression would be "It's a little bit perverted that he's looking at that in public" BUT, to someone who knows about AKB48 and other idol groups their impression of you would most likely be "Ah, I see he's a AKB48 fan"

So theres not much we can do to stop us from being labelled as perverts from someone who has no idea about Japanese culture, because at the end of the day what we do is... to be blunt perverted. Their music videos and photo book's really don't help either considering 90% of them are showing their clevage or "ass"

But oh well, that's the life of a wota. Or at least a wota overseas. It's sort of binded within the contract you sign when you sell your soul to Akimoto Yasushi, So either don't tell anyone about your AKB48 fandom or just accept your fate of being a misunderstood wota. :^^;:

PS: I've already accepted my fate, There was a point where I'd try to explain myself when people around me gave me a funny look when I started to look at AKB stuff but now I've just given up, can't be bothered either. :XD:

i think when people call you out on a hobby or something, you can't be defensive. just go with it. if you get defensive, it makes them attack you more and more. no one ever wants to learn the real side of the story, they usually just say stuff to get in your head. it's like bullying, bullies love the reaction they get from kids they pick on. don't give them that reaction.

(speaking from experience on everything i've done... anime/gaming/etc. i'm so used to it now.)

@tomokazu: speak for yourself, man. i don't fantasize or stalk these girls. i like them because they're funny and entertaining, and they're a great gateway into japanese culture and something i desperately needed to keep me motivated to learn the language. that's probably why the first thing i would say when you ask me about akb/nmb is "i think they're hilarious."

i also dont fantasize and stalk these girls.. but instead, they are inspiration for me,, [nod]

im not really drooling when i saw them in bikini  .. for me its normal,
(btw, their is a nude beach here in barcelona) :nb: :p

fantasize no, i just dream, having a date with my favorite idol.. its a little different.. :^^;: :inlove:

the reason i also follow them is because of their musics.. [rock]

but overall, people with no idea about idols call us Pervert :fp:

You're telling me, from the eyes of someone who has no idea about Japanese culture or idol's wouldn't think we're perverted if we started randomly looking at bikini photos of young girls? If that's so what kind of heaven do you live in? Take me there now !

I'm not saying that they're not funny or entertaining, I'm just saying what we do from the eyes of someone who has no idea about Japanese culture or idol's is a tad bit creepy. The "wota culture" hasn't really been accepted widely throughout the world yet, so that's the main reason why it's creepy from a Gaijin's eyes. But to us, or people who know about Japanese culture would find it acceptable because we know of wota culture.

I think its more easy to rationalize viewing photos of pretty AKB girls in bikini than photos of women in playboy magazines wearing nothing at all even those not knowing of the wota culture will agree.

And I think the west is more crazy for having nudist beach, and they say wotas are creepy! :fp:

    nah i'm not saying that.

i'm saying that not all of us are into it to see them in bikinis.
because honestly if i was into it for that, i'd rather just watch porn instead. might as well go all the way. :D

but yeah don't lump all the akb fans into one pile, many fans come from different perspectives. i'm sure the 4/5 year-old girls that love AKB aren't drooling over Yukirin's photobook or Acchan's hand bra.

Hehe .. good point. Plus, not all AKB girls are the best material for bikini photoshoots. For example, Sashihara .. she's a flat chest. [hehe]

Not saying I don't enjoy seeing her or other AKB members' photoshoots. They're cute and all. But it's not the main reason why I follow them. I didn't read any gravure magazines before .. I wouldn't start now just because of AKB48. :p

But Tomokazu is also right that from the perspective of people who don't understand the wota culture .. they could think we are creepy for following young, and some even underage, girls. :^^;:

Hm, i get both sides of the spectrum here, but it seems that the issue is this quote:
I wouldn't exactly call it stalking, what we do. The members seem to be the ones always posting on their blogs about what they eat, where they go to get their nails done, who they're having a sleep over with etc.
I relate the term "Stalking" more with being obsessive and actually following them and trying to be discrete about it and accessing information that got through means which is not meant to be for the public. Now i would have a hazard of a guess and say at least 99% of these forums does not know the members home address, phone numbers etc. Sure, some fans may be obsessive and have a lot of photos online/in person of the members, but if they are made available to the public, whether it be through means of magazines, photo shoots, members blogs, google+ accounts whatever, they are uploaded/released with the intent of letting people see and have access to them.

    +1 :awesome:
