How will teams that couldn't attend due to COVID-19 be scored on Queendom2?

As the situation of COVID-19 has entered its third year, with even the addition of the Omicron crisis, broadcasters have also been suffering. In particular, Mnet's Queendom 2, where many-membered idol groups are gathering for competition, is bound to be more sensitive than ever to the COVID-19 situation.

Speaking of, the group LOONA, also appearing in Queendom 2, announced that they will be missing from the competition held on the 27th of February when HaSeul, Yeo Jin, and Vivi were confirmed to have COVID-19 a day before the first round.

The recording of the first round was conducted with the remaining five teams, and only scores from on-site audiences of the five teams were taken. There is no guarantee that this will not happen in the future. Then, what sort of "manual" has Queendom 2 constructed for this situation?

Queendom 2 told Joynews24, "we think it's very unfortunate to miss the first round due to confirmed COVID-19 cases," but also that "it's only right to proceed with the first round as scheduled in consideration of the other five artist teams and their fans who made their way on-site." In addition, they mentioned that future Queendom 2 filmings will be carried out as scheduled as well without any changes, to maintain fairness.

The final score of Queendom 2 will be determined by the summed total of four stages, and on-site voting makes up 10% of the first round's score. In LOONA's case, they will not be receiving these points due to not attending. However, in the case of "digital judging," to be held on video platforms, LOONA's first round performance will be included as planned.

Per Queendom, "once the LOONA members become healthy again, we will hold their first round performance recording, with their fans on-site, in an environment that's fair when compared to the prior recording with the other five teams. We will try to make the competition as fair as possible, such as by including LOONA in the "digital judging" phase of the first round, which will begin when the show airs."

Looking ahead, this "manual" is expected to be implemented in the same manner if there are teams that cannot attend rounds due to COVID-19 issues. This is also an issue shared with and agreed upon in advance by the production team of Queendom 2 with the six artists' agencies, before the first round.
Queendom 2 is a comeback survival program in which six K-pop girl groups/ solo artists release a one-time single a day to compete. SNSD Taeyeon will be the MC, while Brave Girls, VIVIZ, WJSN, LOONA, Kepler, and Hyolyn will appear on the show. The first broadcast airs on March 31st at 9:20pm KST.

Rumor: Chuu has reportedly filed a lawsuit against her agency, Blockberry Creative, to suspend her exclusive contract

Chuu filed a lawsuit against Blockberry Creative in December 2021 to suspend her exclusive contract with the company. The court ruled that Chuu’s case would be partially approved, and she could be granted a preliminary injunction.

An injunction is a ruling made by a judge that will mandate an individual or entity to either start or stop a certain action. A preliminary injunction, also known as a temporary injunction, can be issued early on during a legal process when the court determines that by issuing one, they can prevent potential harm. They are only issued based on the evidence presented in the case.

The reason for Chuu’s lawsuit has not been revealed. Blockberry Creative has not commented on the matter yet either.

Chuu has been participating with LOONA for their Queendom 2 promotions, attending filming sessions and appearing on promotional content.
