The over-group's shared YouTube channel previously known as ‘Ikonoi Channel’ now expands to all three groups. From the new channel nickname we get the new official over-group nickname: ‘Ikonoijoy’. Official Japanese seems to be hiragana for some reason: いこのいじょい。 (But the official channel name will be ‘Ikorabunoimineajoy Channel’ which as they commented is a mouthful.)

^oooo ? I think she said at ~4:00 she wants to see how =LOVE will look like without her as center, thus she approached Sasshi and told her she wish 11th single center will be another person.

She did not regret opting out of center, still having fun in their daily activity.

Man ... she scared me with her tone .... it felt like that dreaded G word.

This will be interesting to see the "new" =LOVE

 

I don't think this was necessary, because we've seen Naatan and Naatan x Mirinya as centers, so we know what the group would be like without Hitomi as the center. To me, this does feel like a build-up to graduation. She wants to make sure the group is okay without her before she leaves - that's the impression I'm getting

 

At long last the title of the 11th single will be revealed tomorrow (4/30) at 21:00 JST when the MV will be premiered:

Though the counterpoint to this is that we know the group has been ok without her in the past so I don't necessarily see this as her preparing for graduation. dunno... it didn't feel like that to me. since she said herself that "she's looking forward to future activities" and that "she'll work hard from now on", I think that there is no double layer in her words and that she really just wants to try a different center to see if =LOVE can become more popular that way. just like Nogizaka pre and post Ikoma Rina as an immovable center. since Hitomi is Nogi's fan I'm pretty sure that analogy was on her mind for a very long time, and her hiatus was caused by her insecurity as a center.

even though I kinda understand her reasoning, I still think that center change wasn't necessary. Hitomi has always shined brightly as a center, a true sun of =LOVE... besides, it's not like she hogged everyone's covers, =LOVE is famous for a relatively fair limelight distribution among members.
but oh well, it's her decision, and if it'll relieve her from burden, I can only hope for the best

 

Sasshi is praised for writing songs suited to the center (in the case of B-sides and ≠ME), so I have to admit I would like to see what a Maika-center or Kiara-center or Anna-center single would be like.

 

btw, today is a 5 years anniversary of =LOVE formation!
5 years, 10 singles... it's probably a good turning point
