"Haruna Kojima to Star Upcoming Midnight Drama Series 'Megutan' starting on 7th July"

"...It's announced AKB48 member Kojima Haruna (24) will appear in the upcoming mid-night TV Drama "Megutan tte Mahou Tsukaeruno?" (starts from 7th) as a main charater, Megu, who is a and "natural airhead" and "underachiever" magician.

This is the first time she stars the Drama series after she starred TV Tokyo's Drama series "Men☆Dol ~Ikemen Idol" in 2008 (from Oct). "I'm feeling nervous, but I don't feel pressure to play a main role.", she softly said.

She plays a role of magician Megu, who's come to the human world for training, and in the final scene of each episode, she plays a sexy scene where she flits skirt to show her panty to erase memories of people who saw her magic.
"I don't think AKB members already know this. They would be surprised that I will show my panty. But for me, I don't feel surprised (to play this role) that much"

Because of her "natural airhead" character she has been considered as "underachiever" in a magician school. She has been sent to an apartment (where residents are served each meal) in the human world and work as a super and caretaker for the apartment.

But there's a condition: "Once she is discovered that she is a magician, she won't be able to return (to the world she's been originally lived.)".....
Despite our initial thought that this role is a good fit for her as she is also often dubbed "natural airhead", she said "I'm no 'natural airhead'. I just play a role in a solid manner."

When she and Mr.Akimoto heard the offer for the main role of this Drama, Mr.Akimoto asked her, "Are you Okay with showing your panty?" to make sure. "I actually wasn't that surprised, and answered 'As long as it's a classy 'Flitting skirt and show panty'', I will play the role.", she said.

Though She hasn't yet filmed "Panty flashing"scene, which maybe appears in every episode of this Drama series, it seems she is looking forward to the filming of this "First time ever" scene for her. "I heard they blow a strong wind, and film from a lot of different angles", she said.

Screenplay and direction of the Drama is done by Fukuda Yuichi, whose past work includes "Yuusha Yoshihiko to Maou no Shiro" and "Muse no Kagami". Other casts include Muro Tsuyoshi, Iketani Nobue, Otoo Makuma (team Nacs) and Nakamura Tomoya.

Producer at NTV, Mouri Shinobu said, "After 'Muse no Kagami', I had a talk with Mr.Akimoto, like 'We may want to work together again.' and we had a fun talk about Kojiharu, like 'How about making something 'weird (but interesting)' with Kojiharu'. That was a start, and I asked the creation to Mr. Fukuda. That's how this Drama was given to the birth..."

....After reading the storyline..I'm really wondering if this is a good idea...

Just from the sound of it, I can feel the "OMFG AKB ARE UNTALENTED SLUTTY WHORES~" bashing coming up....

I'll wait but seriously the storyline I read sound really~ really~ bad...with the panty flashing part... [wonder]

Agree a bit with you the storyline is kinda weirdo. Truth is I don't know to wait about this after reading the article.

I just want to think will be a satyrical/comical dorama but this make to think in kojiharu as a Magician Bimbo girl

Well, only just waiting to see.

OMG!! I know Kojipa might look flirtatious and bitchy but
in truth not. [cool] but just because of her image of being Airhead and
her looks suits it doesn't this implicating much of her image.

just by the description of the drama I can picture this is going
to be like some ecchi,fantasy genre drama that I've scanned through
while finding a anime with comedy genre but always ended up having
ecchi undertones.

Well, I guess this will be a fanservice thing but i hope this be a funny midnight drama.

You know what. Came to my mind there is the possibility that Kojiharu will sing the theme song(maybe) and thats means that she become the next solo singer of AKB48. but is just my guess.

love the story, Nyannyan with her carefree and airhead character, it will be hilarious
for me this kind of story is more suitable if they make an anime/manga rather than tv drama

Because of the fan services I'm not excited - I wish if she can do a serious role or something to remove the "Airheaded Idol" from Kojima.

Wow Harunyan as the lead. Hopefully this would also means she would have her solo single soon
Anyway talking about the story. It is not that odd for me. The story is kinda similar with a legend around here where there's a goddes who come to human world but won't be able to return if somebody discover her as goddes or taking her scarf and etc. Though because it already involves mini-skirt and flashing panties. I guess fanservice would take the majority of the storyline

actually even without the storyline description I figured
that Haru-nyan's role with have ecchi-ness just because of the name
MEGU-TAN (Ohori Megumi) no offense.
it just reminds of Meetan.

but this drama will either excite me or disappoint
seeing Haru-nyan will star a drama but in the other side
this is exploiting woman for hentai world.
I wish Haru-nyan will be taken as a serious actress rather than
soon-going to be porn actess [puke]

The article also says that showing her underwear is also okay, which is only something you can do because it's a late night drama. -headdesk-

Damn, way for Ogi Pro to pull back after being in a big prime time drama with Ikemen Desune, and Kojipa acted well in it too. Especially with Kojipa dropping this year in the election, you'd expect to sort of push her more. I'm not really a fan of some of these late night dramas that have AKB in the lead. I'd rather see them in more mainstream ones with a smaller role. Of course, not everyone is Yuko and can get a lead, but seeing them like Kaoru in ATARU is a pretty good way to enter rather than just being like, "Hey look, AKB..let's give them the lead role!"

But I'm glad to see Kojipa acting again! I enjoy her acting a lot.

the advantage with doing it like Karou is that they are around the big prime time actors too, I think a few scenes with the top actors is worth it over a main role in a late night drama, especially as Haruna has had those sorts of role before in drama's she has been in.....

Still sometimes you need the experience as a lead too, so this drama will be good for this at least......

This! Kaoru apparently worked a lot with Kitamura Kazuki, whom I absolutely love. He raved about her too. But yeah, I guess it's gotta come sometime or later.

I don't mind about the ecchiness (it's not the first time)

I remembered Nyan's first lead role drama "Coin Operated Locker Story".
It's also a midnight drama, had a bit of ecchiness, and only had 4 episodes.

About the theme song, i think it will use Nyan's new solo song from the next no3b new single.
Of course if this will be Nyan's first solo single debut, i will extremely happy (make it happen, please !!!)
