Miyawaki Sakura (Sakura) / 1st Generation

Don't have an opinion until I see the photobook.

 

I like the picture, it was tasteful in my eyes. And sakura got a beautiful back

 

Not sure what there is still to be surprised about when it comes to Sakura's gravure.

Gravure was essential to her career. It's only logical to go even further to further her career even more. Personally, her gravure put me off back when she was 15 years old already.

CD Japan took down her photo book listing. According to what I read on Twitter it is because of inappropriate pictures of a minor.

 

Weird since I seen waaaaaaaay worse PB's of pre 18 year olds in Japan
Like, almost porn.

I don't mind either way they go however, I will buy it no matter what because I want to support her
Otherwise I would just download it ^^

Still waiting for my Jurina PB to be announced zzzzz.

 

Fujie Reinas DVD was more heckas than this book and nobody cared about a 14yo stripping then.. This is ludicrous

when it comes to gravure, i have seen muuuch much worse than this, with much much younger.

It feeds gossip because she is a popular member of AKB48. I say, just makes your own opinion on watching the preview available.

To me this photobook is nothing shocking.

 

yeah its still on yesasia.. its still everywhere. . I was gonna buy it, then I talked myself out of it then two days ago I wanted it for the dvd then discovered you had to enter a draw for the dvd and now I'm just sitting here thinking I'm missing out on some sexy sakura spread (I'm obviously not) and awaiting the dvd to come on ebay for a zillion dollers...

 

It's just one venue (CD Japan) so it's not going to damage sales all that much. I just browsed their PB section and I do think it's hypocritical of them when their site still sells PB's with scantily clad minors in them. If Amazon took it down, that would be a huge blow.

 

I always thought CD-Japan isn't very popular. Am I mistaken?
Also, because most fans who buy it are from Japan, very little should change in terms of sales.

In my personal opinion, there is very little intention behind Sakura's photo being sexually suggestive.
(technique wise: lighting, color, angle, composition, etc)
But this is with the bias of someone who went to an art high school. Meaning that my perception of sexuality may be distorted.

 

CDJapan is the international version of Neowing and it's still available on the Neowing site. So most likely it only affects international orders and won't have much impact on sales.

There are plenty of 48g members that had worse shots before they turned 18.
And yeah Acchans photo is 10 times worse, you can clearly see sideboob, hell there is even another person holding her hand inches from it as well.
And yeah mayuyu being "naked" is not much better.

And those are not even the worst from the 48g shots

Just seems like some weird stuff from international cdjapan, since every other site have it listed.

 

Typical Japan.. Everything is an inside job... Don't tell anyone... Keep it dark shhhh... No one will understand... This is why AKB will never drop anything in the western world... Sad....... the Asian music show in my country won't even play AKB just mostly kpop so I had to start my own show.. (their reasoning is AKB won't give them the videos or cds) makes sense on paper but I've seen them on tv all over the world.. I think their too far in the Korean governments pocket... Anyway stunts like this aint helping my cause!! Sakura you lil shit.

 

I find this hypocrisy (if present) pretty lame... Mayu's shot is one of the most sexually-suggestive 48GP photos ever published*, IMO (not in small part due to her... unique physical attributes... but the presentation doesn't downplay that at all -- just the opposite). Other than some raised eyebrows and rehashes on talk show and radio with Mayu in interviews, I don't remember any huge negative reaction pulling it off sites and/or shelves -- if that's in error, feel free to correct with a link to an article.

Echoing @skuf 's cynicism about the fishiness of it all though... yeah this is ripe. It doesn't take but a few phone calls and/or emails to a domestic int'l-sales web vendor to shut down the ad, suggesting anti. However it does then beg the question... why is it still being sold on the domestic side (Neowing), if it's anti? Sounds to me to be a way to limit photobook sales to local fans first... but then there's the Amazon issue. Could be the publishers just've thought it'd be insane to get Amazon to stop retailing it, but just needed to find a way to limit the books from disappearing overseas? Or even that Neowing didn't pay enough under the table for the privilege of retailing it on CD Japan? Sounds sneaky but plausible... if impossible to verify. Business as usual...

If it is anti responsible, though... I just hope no overly-puritanical Sakura fans are involved... the hypocrisy, esp for us foreign fans who can't get them in person, is pretty childish. To me esp in light of past sub-18 48GP gravure... Sakura's shots are nothing at all to be up in arms about.

To be honest I think everyone is just overreacting a bit, it's 1 site only that removed it, and we don't even know the reason (yeah we can guess)
All other sites have it listed and for sale, If amazon for example were to remove it, then yes something big would have happened.

I've been emailing cdjapan for a few days about this book (regarding the DVD ordeal), then they sent this and stopped replying to me yesterday.

 

Yes as I thought, western influence only.
Does not matter really, so still a overreaction

And still other international sites to buy it from if you don't like to navigate amazon.jp, like yesasia etc.

Well, at least it's a relief it's been only one site... if this had caught a head of steam with other retailers (esp Amazon)... that'd be unacceptable, but not unheard of here...
