'Rookie', a Japanese adult video company, is preparing to launch a parody adult video on April 5 that satirizes Neru. The title and cover unmistakably reference Neru's 'Kokokara' photobook, and the production features costumes resembling those of Keyakizaka46. Keyaki fandom in Japan is voicing strong opposition to halt the release.

While adult parodies of movies or anime characters are typically tolerated, singling out an individual in this manner seems highly inappropriate. This is serious defamation!

That is seriously a disgusting thing that that company is planning.

I wonder if there is something that Neru her own company can do to prevent that release?

 

Depending on Japanese law, this looks like some kind of real defamation to me. Facial appearance is too close, for one thing. Done by AI? But Neru and her agents have to decide whether making an issue of it would just draw attention to it. EDIT: Also, I suppose, whether "all publicity is good publicity" and this crass item could benefit Neru commercially.

 

Felt like this is something I need to address, despite the NSFW topic:

I've heard the company in question also parodied several idols in the past too. Whether managements did go after these kinds of parodies in the past is unknown, but contemporary fan responses indicated mixed amusement/unamusement (at least from English/Indonesian circles) - I personally find them offensive too.

The ironic thing is that I've heard fan criticism of past lookalike AVs where the actress portraying the subject being parodied looked nothing like the subject.
