I am actually looking forward to what people will comment if Sasshi wins this year and they start comparing between the results of kouhaku & SSK ( which, of course, are two totally different situations and shd not even be compared but u noe .... ppl always say stuff like these ).

Truthfully .... If this is really Sasshi's last year in SSK ..... I'm going all out for her but I don't think management will allow her to make drastic decisions since no matter what people say..... she does bring in a lot of revenue just in ssk & the money pot is telling them Nahhh ... I'm not going to participate ......

Same thing people say every year. "She's not popular, she just has rich wotas". Like half of the people here don't follow Japanese entertainment outside of AKB. Of course they are misinformed.

 

It's similar, but the badges are usually given when the girl does something they like - kind of like a reward. In Hyakkatens case each girl was show cased as much as possible. As far as sales driving the number of shows, I think it should be reversed; use shows to drive up sales. I see a lot of NMB shows, does that mean NMB is selling better than SKE ans HKT? I thought they had a lot of shows to promote themselves to catch up to SKE.

 

People think the whole HKT's problems AKB48G's problems 48&46's problems idol world problems is Sasshi's fault.

 

What gap?

 

Gap in performance.

Maybe i'm gonna explain a little bit more. It's more about Style, HKT and Keyaki are quite different, and it's fair to say Keyaki's choregraphy is much more complicated that HKT current songs, even compared to make noise.

But overall, as someone who watched both group closely, the biggest example was HKT silent Majority during their National tour. They are not used to such choregraphy, and had to go for a simplified version. Since it was a song from tour, i assume they had a lot of rehearsal to train, but it was better to maintain a correct level of performance for all songs instead of try harding on Silent Majority.

I also compare to Ariake Coliseum, Keyaki have so many hard songs but they all performed in a very satisfying level, and the mood atmosphere of the audience was lit up. The beginning of Silent Majority was overwhelming.

My real stand for those two group, is that they can learn from each other. I'm quite blessed that over AKB sister group, they chose HKT to be the closest to. While Keyakizaka can inspire HKT to do better in performance, i'm absolutely convinced that Keyakizaka felt the power of Sasshi as God tier idol and will yearn for her presence in concert from now on. Yuuka has natural affinity toward MC, but hasn't reached maturity and control.

It's actually a non-debate. Sakura like Keyaki to the point to use her own showroom to do a senbatsu prediction, both group had fun on stage, and Keyaki fans praised HKT good performance. It's a win win situation.

 

@fatrain this!!! definitely this. Some people said that sasshi is an average idol but a good talker. But for me personally, I find that sasshi is a perfect package of idol. How she handle her stage and interact with fans always amaze me. She 's kind of an idol that you'll follow even if she graduate from being an idol, just cannot stop see her conquer the world

 

It's unusual to see an idol with so much business savvy. For that matter, it's unusual to see any young woman with such an acute sense of what is right or wrong in regards to her future prospects in entertainment. For years she has seemed more like a business woman than an idol, but you are correct in that she is so fascinating that most of her her present-day fans will follow her and support her for years to come. She is one of AKB's best all-time stories. And I'm sure that the younger girls must be in awe of her.

 

Lol yes I agree with you that is exactly why I said in my personal opinion, because in my perspective I wanna have a long term relationship with all of my oshis and sasshi is the kind of idol that provide and wrap her idoling world in an interesting long term packages

basically, ex-producer of NTV Saegusa Takaomi praises Sasshi's MC skills and analyzes "why this MC is great".
he feels explosive power and tolerance in her MC. he told a story about her self-producing skill, when she suggested to producer of AKBINGO Mori to show her wotagei. and before one knows, she became a frequent candidate to MC position in new shows. she is also good in dragging others into her own pace, has good observation powers and she's good at getting close to people.

there was also another article recently in which Mino Monta and Koyabu Kazutoyo talked about her MC skills (in interview after recording of "Saiaku no Ichinichi")

Monta said that Sasshi has a great intuition as MC and that he entrusted MC job to her and Koyabu. Koyabu called Sasshi a "female MC who raises tension/spirits". he was also aware that he could be compared to Goto and Tokui in KonKura (at least by his Yoshimoto kouhais), so he was on his tiptoes)) Sasshi also helped him with her boke several times.

not sure about credibility of it's sources, but since this information appeared in other articles as well (for example, in this recent one), it looks legit.

I think that Wotagei (Sakuranbo) and Mix (Skirt Hirari) at AKBest 10 are the earliest notable memories I have of Sasshi. It was in the Sashihara no Ran that Mori-P t about this episode, wasn't it?

It's interesting how there're lots of people who don't have interest in AKB48 (or even don't like) but likes Sasshi. It's nice to see Sasshi got Wada Akiko's sympathy. She's known by her sharp tongue towards young people and she doesn't seem to be the kind of person who like idols. (I don't know what she thinks about AKB48 though. Once I saw Kasai Tomomi on her show.) The best example I remember is Matsuko Deluxe. He/she seems to hate AKB48 but is okay with Sasshi.

I like Maekawa Kiyoshi because he's the one who pulls Nakai's leg in the Momm!
I'm surprised he likes Koichun, although general public must like it because it's a nice song and easy-to-listen. Long life for Koichun!

^ I always had this silly airhead image of Rola until I saw a couple of shows that showed her serious side. she's very sharp, a real pro, when it comes to fashion and modeling. in a way she really resembles Kojiharu (minus silliness))

yeah, it seems to be Sasshi's speciality is to draw in people who are not or weren't idol fans in the first place. I know it firsthand))
I wonder if majority (or at least a relatively big part) of her fans weren't involved with idol fandom before meeting her.
