^ Ooo... this is getting exciting! LOL. Two coins that Meru is center again (or at least co-center)... IMO Meru has nothing to fear from NakoMiku... IMO the only one that can take Meru down... is Mio. anic: LOL.

^wasn't there something about Meru habing been nervous about her position before the 3rd single senbatsu was announced (privately to them obviously not the official announcement lol)
I agree, Mio is Meru's rival in this.(I wished Meru/Haruppi to dish it out for the center spot. It's just too sad. ) NakoMiku are just too small and too young to be the Wfaces of the group, what I mean is, that there's more to HKT than primary school children, so they're out as direct representatives.

A casual fan to me is someone who only buys 1 or 2 CDs. And there are lots of people I've seen on twitter or LINE, who just buy a theatre edition and that's it. To me, it is the hardcore fans buying every type that inflates the soundscan sales, not casual fans.

Mirai to ha's first week was only 397,874 so you could instead say that we are only 120k less than SKE now :^)
SKE is decreasing quite a bit, but HKT isn't! So I think that is good. Maybe NMB will be down again too.

NMB's single is up from the last one (2nd best 1st day ever for them), so that seems unlikely.

SKE fans are just saving up, so they can power vote for their oshimen, that's one of the reasons for SKE's low sales.

keep in mind that NMB have 9 differents events included in Takane no ringo and also the ticket for their Request hour.

If SKE single had the same advantage that Takane no ringo, the sales would definitively have been higher.

Still 400k for weekly sales is not that bad for SKE after all. This month was a good harvest overall for AKB group.

Having lots of graduated members is what hurts sales of events though.
And SKE's soundscan sales aren't that great either. They had 4 different types (A, B, C, and D) and only had soundscan sales of 118,750, which is an average of 29,687 per type. HKT had an average of 26,696 per type.

In other news, not sure if it has been posted yet, but HKT is doing a "pair" handshake event thing for Sakutabe. Basically you buy a ticket for say Sakura/Murashige block, and shake both their hands at the same time. I'm not sure how common it is for the groups to do additional events after the CD has been released? But I wonder if when the singles for this event get dispatched if we will see Sakutabe show up on Oricon again.

this type of handshake is counter-intuitive to me, but at the same time i don't refuse a MeruMio opportunity.

This could be a good opportunity for some members. For example, Sakura is really popular, but Murashige not as much. So Sakura fans will go for Sakura, but get to see Murashige as well, and maybe get to like her a bit.

don't you fear the possibility to have a fan ignoring Murashige while doing an double handshake with the two of them?

I remember the unfamous moment when i chinese fan didn't wanted to shake hands with haruppi and Sakura because he only wanted Sasshi.

Fans can be super rude, and this kind of event unfortunately predispose for this kind of attitude.

But maybe the opportunity of having sakura fans getting a liking to Anna overcome this unconvenient moment.

I remember seeing the post on the HKT website about that pair handshake. The pictures were kinda funny. The post emphasized that you can't shake hands with just one of them and ignore the other. But even if fans don't completely ignore one of the girls, I think most of them will still focus their attention on one of them. It's only natural to like one girl more than the other in a given random pair.

Have the pairs been announced yet? I hope the members in each pair are in the same popularity level. [think]

You're not allowed to shake hands with just one girl.
This is not allowed they say! And either way, if someone were to ignore the other girl, then it means they were not fans nor were they going to be fans of her in the first place, so she has nothing to lose.
