640,000 is indeed inflated, still we don't know how many theater editions were sold.
I'm guessing that around the 10 to 20% of the sales are from the theater edition, so by my guess at least 64,000 are from the music cards

I think it's the other way around. More like 20% weren't theater editions.

I be most thrilled if this is just a sign that SKE is starting to gain many new fans, cause i really want a new tv show for the group, it doesn't have to be an Ebi, but a new weekly show would be great.

so pretty much around 350k-450k first week sales  The next single without mcs is gonna be really painful to see the sales drops like crazy but it'll be after SSK either way so I hope 450k first week is not unreachable for the next next single(even 400k first week seem far away with the graduations)

With all the content of the non theater editions, i doubt that i was more than the 35% of the sales were only theater...
Considering that 35%, the actual sales drop to 475,000, who is also a very legit number.
@10% is 580,000, and @20% is 533,000, so maybe i was too optimistic about them...
But if only 20% weren't theater editions, the real sales drop up to 355,000, what is really bad for whatever its seen...

    ^SKE48「コケティッシュ渋滞中」 実売:9.2万枚 劇場:27.4万枚(54.8万枚) 合計:36.6万枚

Theater makes up for most of the SKE sales... obviously there's no way everyone with a theater ver. will use their mcs so we can see 366k first week as a minimum.

Theater editions come with the handshake ticket that people want to have. It's not uncommon for people to buy 20 or more theater editions. There may be more individual buyers of the other editions (though keep in mind that Limited editions also come with a handshake ticket, just a different kind) but more copies are bought of the theater eds.

70-80% of the sales can be attributed to anything but the music itself. And it's always been like this.

So... if we suppose the total of non-theater editions to be 100k, that would make the theatre editions 540k aprox.
Since each theatre was counted twice, they actually sold around 270k of them?

    So yeah, inflated indeed. :^^;:

Not sure about that pocket thing. While Akimoto pretty sure gets lots out of it 48G in general uses a lot for promotiomal things. Usually having dome concerts e.g. is only a money killer even for events where you don't have to cater 300 artists and staff and put clothes on 200 girls. And 48 does lots of that stuff where you invest for future, not yet realized income.

By unranked, do you mean they weren't counted or they were so low that they couldn't rank?

They didn't sell enough, i.e. less than 3582 copies each (= last ranked sales).

We don't need to know how many music cards were used since plenty of people only use them for the pics or as collectors items. The low rate of bought music cards to music cards used was one of the main reasons why Oricon decided not to count them anymore. Or at least that was cited in the articles.

Pretty much what unwanted said. So low that they didn't rank.
