Stage Team A 5th Stage [Renai Kinshi Jourei] 081019-100527

Starting October 19th.

If A5 came right after A4 (NO revival) my expectations would be extremely high.

However, A4Revival is not as great as the original A4 was, so my expectations are a little lower.

However......they're still quite high.

I also believe that a lot of this is resting on Team A now. Team A used to be the best team without a doubt. Now, other members are challenging their status. Kenkyuseis are taking away from the popularity of the original A members. K and B have been doing that for a while, and the "gap" between A and K/B (yes I am separating them on purpose to illustrate this point) has been getting smaller every day.

If A5 is excellent, then awesome. If A5 is marginal or "okay," then...I think it would encourage a few more people to switch their favorite members.

Either way, A5 is going to be extremely important in deciding where Team A will stand now amongst K and B (and Kenkyuseis). Remember, the last time Team A had their own stage (A4) it blew everybody away. Now....it's a little different. The playing field is more level in my opinion and Team A doesn't stand out as being God's gift to the earth anymore. Perhaps not so much with B, but K certainly is pouring on the pressure.

I'm not saying that K and B are shit, but A has much more history and many more stories of outrageous fandom than K and B will ever have. Team A used to define AKB48, but now, that is no longer the case. Therefore, I'm saying that since K and B recently got new stages, where will Team A's stand amongst them? Better? The same? Worse? Who knows....

Hope A5 will come in better than the impact when they first release A4.

and oh, although b4 was hinted first, i'm glad a5 will take the lead on the new shows. shock absorber .

 

Yay, now release the damn A4 CD already... please?

I'm excited for this but I can't help to think about what Team A will look like once the stage starts...

ARGH I CAN'T WAIT. Team A havn't ACTUALLY had a new stage since I've been in the fandom, since I became a fan when the original A4 was playing.

Reacting to Tatami's comments.. I agree that the disparity between the teams has narrowed quite a bit. It's fun to have a measure of team/fan rivalry, I think.. makes things interesting However, the fact that K and B are catching up to A in terms of fanbase and individual member success is a very good thing for the whole of AKB48, in my opinion.

About time! I have high hopes for A5. I'm hoping that the reason it's taken so long (and the reason they had to do an A4 revival) is that Akimoto-sensei has just been taking some extra time to really bang out an awesome set of songs.

A4 is my favorite stage but I'm interested to see how A5 turns out.

My two favorites Michiru and Kayano graduated though... so A5 better feature lots and lots of TAKAMINA!!!!!

 

I'll admit that I'm not too excited about A5. Out of all of AKB's stages, Team A's are my least favorite. Each stage has a couple of songs that do stick out for me, but the majority of them are incredibly mediocre in my opinion. I'd love to see this stage prove me wrong though. Here's hoping its great.

 

I say just reduce the absentee list and it will be good 8D

A4 was a really kickass stage, A5 would have to be godly to beat that.
IMO, A5 would win if they could make me love every song upon first listen. (worked with all song in A4 except for Kikyou, Haru ga Yatte kuru and Nante Suteki na ...)

 

awesomeness of a stage depends on a lot of things like the songs, dance routines, good combination of members, etc. I'm excited to see how A would pull this off. Will the Junai trio have a unit song again? Only time will tell. I'm hoping for good costumes as well.

not too excited either about the new stage. well, off course it depends on the songs. but i'm most peculiar how all those members will be featured. Especially if the ex-seed members will get any attention, since half of team A are main-ish/very popular members. ah time will tell lah

 

Finally! A5! I've been waiting for this. I hope that this is a really good Stage, and I think it will be. I have to wonder if it'll be better than B3 and K4, as both of these are incredible (I might say B3 is better, but I haven't seen either yet). Also, I wonder if Team A will develop more of a Team image, since B3 really shows Team B is all about fun, while K4 really shows Team K is all about power. (Does Team A even have a 'theme song'? (B - Wasshoi B, K - Korogaru Ishi ni Nare, A - Dear My Teacher?)

I guess Mariko and Maimai now have a deadline to graduate.

I pray they don't.
