For this HKT48 variety show, the setting is a new magical school In the mountains of Fukuoka-kan, where HKT members practice day-to-day to become full fledged magical girls. Sashihara Rino will be a senior of the school from the eastern region of Japan. There will be guests, talks and special training segments in the show.

This show is one half of Nogizaka46xHKT48 Kanmuri Bangumi Battle!, with the other half Nogizaka46's show, NOGIBINGO!. There will be a total of 11 episodes for each show. Each episode will be 30 minutes long. Every week, an episode of one show will be chosen as the most interesting for that week by a well known personality. That show will be shown first for the following week. There will be a one hour special episode for the overall winning show.

Each weekly episode from both shows (HKT48 and Nogizaka46) will be 30 minutes. So each week will fill a normal one hour slot. Depending on which team's show is chosen as a good episode for the week, that show will be shown earlier in the slot the following week.

It says that the best program will be chosen by a different guest celebrity each time. (So it's not by audience vote or something like that)

From what I could make out of Haruppi's latests G+ post (after it ran thru Google Translate ) It "seems" that she will be the first on the HKT48 Program...

But I can be wrong So make sure

I've always meant to explore Nogizaka but never got round to. I guess this is my chance?

This magical girl premise sounds just perfect for HKT though. I can't even begin to imagine the level of cuteness we're likely to see. I just wonder how much I'll be able to follow with my extrmely limited Japanese and whether there will be any kind souls who'd be willing to sub some of it.

Either way, looking forward to this.

^ In that 2nd vid... the guy in the bubble and the 2 hosts afterward seemed to be laughing especially hard when Haruppi was talking. LOL. And oh man... that obaasan impression was so bad... I think quite possibly Nogizaka46 will lose to HKT48 in every single episode. LOL.

Thats why HKT is being saddled with this magical girls show rather than a straight on fight with N46, if it was a variety battle HKT would annihilate them.

Oh well, at least this should have a decent budget unlike HKT's local tv programmes. And Haruppi could easily do a Harry Potter cosplay and they'd better dress Aoitan up as Hermione at some stage, just sayin

I agree... but would like to elaborate a little further. This sounds like the greatest idea in the history of mankind. [rock] LOL.

BTW... did they mention what the theme of Nogizaka46's show was? [wonder]

I agree... especially if it were more comedy oriented. There are just so many different types of characters in HKT48 for them to take advantage of. Not too sure about if it were based on pure drama though. [wonder]

OMG. I want to see Haruppi Potter so bad.

I read "HKT as Magical Girls" and immediately though "Madoka Magica" and Moriyasu wearing the outfit. Someone make it happen!

I'm not sure what to expect of this show. At first when I read about the magic academy thing, I thought it would be more like a drama, with a storyline and all. But after reading some more, it looks like it may just be a regular variety show.

i though it would be like hyakkaten with different topic or may be with little scripted drama inside too.. and let members improve the script.

^ Thanks for the video, Snipa! We can see the setting and the costumes for the new show. It looks interesting! Maybe it will be a mixture of drama and variety like Geinin? (I've actually only watched one episode of Geinin, but this is what it seems to be; correct me if I'm wrong)
