Youtube AKB48 videos not available in my country

Is it just me, or did AKB48 just make some of their full PVs on YouTube restricted outside of Japan now?

 

Yeah, I just started noticing that too...

 

Anything in particular? I checked HN, KFC and some of the Acchan era stuff and it all worked fine for me.

 

I just pulled up Green Flash and got this

 

Anyone aware of 'YouTube Red' recently (just search for it, there's news articles about this supposedly new YouTube subscription service, and news of backfiring from various content creators, and even ESPN...)? I could put this as a 'conspiracy theory' on AKB48's recent moves of blocking music videos outside of Japan...

Not liking that decision anyways. Ugh. (>_<) Now what? They're going to end up like Nogizaka46/Sony artists on YouTube??? :O

 

I didn't think YT Red was going to affect this... I guess I was wrong.

 

I'm kind of asking...where do you live specifically (I know the first one who asked it, @HogwartsHokage, is from California, which is USA, and I live in Washington State, which is USA as well...)?

 

Well Green Flash is probably my least favourite AKB single so thanks for making me watch that

but it works fine for me. Maybe my country is small enough that AKS don't realize it exists

 

Haha, they probably didn't block all countries, but yeah, America is a big country, so of course we would be blocked...

Back on topic... I think AKS doesn't want to deal with crap YouTube is doing right now.

I don't believe this is AKS 's doing. I think it has to do with the new YouTube Red. They have even blocked American uploaded dance covers of the songs.

Back to stopping posting.

 

Okay, so I've been yelling at AKS for no reason...phew!

Speaking of YouTube Red though, is it only going to be effective in America, or is it going to be implemented worldwide, too? I'm still not too sure how it works yet, but if it's the latter case, there may be a chance that even a lot of Japanese YouTube viewers will not be able to watch AKB videos too. =/
