Team Kaigai is a AKB48 special Team for the Study Abroad Program members. They are temporary members of a international sister group (Currently only JKT48).

History
First Exchange
All transfers were announced at the Tokyo Dome Team Shuffle, on August 24, 2012.
- Miyazawa Sae - SNH48 (Team SII)
- Suzuki Mariya - SNH48 (Team SII)
- Takajo Aki - JKT48 (Team J)
- Nakagawa Haruka - JKT48 (Team J)
Return to AKB48
On April 28, 2013, three of the Team Kaigai members returned to AKB48. They began to hold a Concurrent Position. Nakagawa Haruka, however, remained a JKT48 member only. On June 2013, Miyazawa Sae cancelled her concurrent position with Team K, becoming only a member of SNH48. Thus, the kennin positions were:
- Suzuki Mariya - Team A and Team SII
- Takajo Aki - Team B and Team J
Second Exchange
All transfers were announced at the AKB48 Group Daisokaku Matsuri.
- Chikano Rina - JKT48
- Takajo Aki's kaigai position was cancelled. She returned permanently to AKB48, becoming a member of Team B
- Miyazawa Sae - Team S and Team SII
