Team Kaigai
Team Kaigai is a AKB48 special Team for the Study Abroad Program members. They are either temporary members or permanent members of an international sister group (Currently in JKT48, TPE48 and BNK48).

First Exchange
All transfers were announced at the Tokyo Dome Team Shuffle, on August 24, 2012.

Return to AKB48
On April 28, 2013, three of the Team Kaigai members returned to AKB48. They began to hold a Concurrent Position. Nakagawa Haruka, however, remained a JKT48 member only. On June 2013, Miyazawa Sae cancelled her concurrent position with Team K, becoming only a member of SNH48. Thus, the kennin positions were:
- Suzuki Mariya - Team A and Team SII
- Takajo Aki - Team B and Team J
Second Exchange
All transfers were announced at the AKB48 Group Daisokaku Matsuri.
- Chikano Rina - JKT48
- Takajo Aki's kaigai position was cancelled. She returned permanently to AKB48, becoming a member of Team B
- Miyazawa Sae - Team S and Team SII
