In 2012, Akimoto Yasushi announced that would form clubs in AKB48. Nine clubs were formed: Art Club, Cooking Club, Drama Club, Light Music Club, Culture Club, Shino-Club, Driving Club, Horse Racing Club and Marathon Club.
As of 2022, all clubs are inactive and have disbanded.
