They said fans have been waiting for this. How many people are actually excited for this?

 

For starters, I am! The teams are already starting to feel empty and at this rate not even the Draft KKS will be enough! I'm looking forward to see what kind of girls they choose this time. It's the first generation after the 10th Anniversary so it better be good... it might be hard to surpass the awesomeness of the 15th but they can try!

 

I don't know, check out the general thread since there's been a discussion there. The group only has 6 KKS right now and that there's not much theater performances, how many will they get?

 

I don't think they need any more than 10, tbh.

Finally! Our prayer has been answered!

At least, with the coming of the new gen, the burden of the current members in the theatre will be lessen.

AKB48 seriously in needs of fresh members, to fill the empty spots the graduated members has left behind.

 

Ok even if there is an actual announcement... is this legit? LOL jk ok now with jokes aside... how many people do you think they will have? I personally would want a good amount of 10-16. Just in case they decide to do another drought of no auditions.

 

Yeah, that kinda feels understaffed, considering Kennins and regular Senbatsu members can't be there all the time u___u

 

What's the point of two auditions going on, on almost the same time?

 

I miss the old days when all the members performed in theater. I get that senbatsu members are busy but still.

Dont forget team 8. They have enough members for 2 teams.

Team 8 shouldn't be considered as replacements for the other teams. As I posted on the AKB thread, even with special stages and one-off performances the number of theater performances has been steadily declining over the last 3 years.

Team 4 have only done 39 theater shows so far this year and they're meant to be the well-staffed team and not too busy outside. Team A have done the grand total of 15 performances of their brand new stage in 6 months, that's just crazy.

 

That already adjusted for the 3 announced graduations in A?

But yeah, the teams really need fresh blood, my favorite solution would be to slowly dispand 8 by integrating them into the regular teams of all Sister groups.
Of course I understand that this solution wouldn't fly with a lot of people , so I take 16th Gen instead.

 

Yeah, plus if you look at the age of members there could be 5-8 graduations next year just due to the age alone (granted it's not automatic, but still), then add whoever might graduate due to realising that they will never be more than a Theater girl and you'd need 10 new members just to keep status quo.

I'm really hoping for a big-ass gen of 20 girls or so.
That should regenerate the ranks well enough for a while.

As for this going on at the same time as SKE's... I guess the managements didn't coordinate well. Sucks for SKE, but ohwell, their audition didn't make sense so soon.

 

I'm actually excited lol. I wanna see a new center material girl born and snatch Miion's center push. Just kidding More girls means more competition so those are always fun lol

If SKE knew about the 16th generation audition and proceeded with their 8th generation anyways, jokes on them. People are probably going to line up for AKB. I don't even get why SKE wants another audition to begin with since their newest draft members aren't even a year old (correct me if I'm wrong) and their newest generation is not even 2 years old

 

The draft was in May 2015, so they are indeed a year old.

What I don't get is why haven't all the draftees promoted already. -.-

 

Finally! I hope they will have more than 10 girl, but less than 16. Poor SKE 8th gen tho LOL!
