Just a trivial question: does AKB48 really stand for Akihabara48? If so, what are the basis? Is the song AKB48 the only official "document" where the group was referred to as such? Thank you.

 

If i remember correctly in one episode of AKBINGO, Takamina recalls the time she saw a handled down black and white flyers for creating a group called "AKIHABARA48" where there is a picture of the producer Akimoto Yasushi. Even the theater is called "AKIHABARA48 Theater"

Can't find a photo of the recruitment flyer but i remember seeing it at the akbingo episode.

 

"Akihabara48" is also in the chorus of the song "AKB48" (and subsequently in "SKE48" "Sakae48", etc.).

 

I have a question, during request hour, when the song is announced or whatever, it plays a little clip with a count down. What is that thing saying? I can’t really make it out. Just curious if anyone knows. Thanks.

I always had a question unresolved about the fans in theatre.
How they could scream always all the same name when girls who sing are 2,3 or more? they (the fans) talk before the show?
or it's casual? There is an order? How they know always what name scream all together?

 

I feel like some fans have some sort of an hierarchy system when doing chants. If Kojimako were to be placed by two random Team 8 members, her name would be called more since she's known more. Then again, every girl has their own fans. Even if they're not loud for her, they'll still support them.

 

I've always wondered about this too! Even with concert units like Heart Gata Virus, there's 2 members singing at once but fans always seem to scream the same 1 name.
