That kind of stuff sucks and can really get you down for a bit.

I had kind of the same situation, only more stupider, but luckier. I had a 2TB external drive full of Japanese movies and videos collected over the years. All in one main folder, I thought I was deleting a sub folder and accidentally deleted the main folder and all 2TBs . The lucky part was I bought another drive and used Recuva to recover all the files to the new drive. I stopped putting everything into one main folder after that.

All this talk is making me think "Hmm, time to buy a new external hard drive just in case. . ."

Most of the time when a hard drive dies the data is still recoverable. It might be difficult but I would try different solutions before giving up on it. At worst you could take it to a data recovery specialist depending on how much the files are worth to you. 900gb is a lot to lose

Another possibility is that the enclosure is broken, but the hard drive itself is still okay. As long as it’s not under warranty, maybe try “shucking” the drive (lots of tutorials in the internet) and putting it in another computer.

Or invest in online backup? Though, I'm not sure what happens with your data if you stop paying the monthly fee.

It still make the sound it makes when you it in a computer but it doesn't open, the light indicator doesn't light too.

    MOD NOTE: DON'T DOUBLE POST

I'm literally sick right now maybe because of overthinking about it.

I use paid plan for Dropbox - here's my experience:
There was a time when I had issues with my credit card, and Dropbox emailed me about the payment failure. Basically they warned that put in a valid/new credit card info otherwise they will downgrade the account in the next payment cycle.

So to summarize - you would get downgraded to the free account option (with way less space) and locked out of the rest of your data/files. I don't think they would just erased the data (at least not for some time/months) the access to your files will likely be restored when the payment is resumed. By the way, I used my online backup for my old work files, design portfolio, e-books & other personal files; not my idol files.

I understand that to invest in online backup can be costly - free options like default google drive may not be providing enough space if we're talking about storing video files. And god knows I've also gone through several external HDD drives...lost some work files, some personal stuff, etc. Throughout my life, for backup I've used CD-Rs, DVD-Rs, heck even Iomega Zip drives (I'm such an old fart).

Sometimes things just...did not go our way, even when we did our best. Even so, we can always work to rebuild what we lost. Don't lose heart, @langsikretoooo

Apologies for diverting the discussion from actual subbing topic here.

Thank you for the subs, this show is so amazing and without your hard work I wouldn't be able to enjoy it.
One thing I was wondering, did they really call Ayame a "Mental List" or is she supposed to be a "Mentalist"? [hehe]

    TRANSLATED TO BAHASA INDONESIA!!
    THANK YOU FOR ENGSUBS REFERENCES!

This might sound classic, but for me it is a self-achievement. For my first time, I have done with this around 85% without no one help (since MISAKA released RAW episode 4). However, I thank TAMUHAYA again for my English references (after you release hardsub ver.) when the dialogue that I did not understand (like too fast, etc).
And, as always, I add "tags" like this :

    SOFTSUBS
    Half english references by TAMUHAYA.
    RAW by Misaka46.

@Lusankya Yeah, they did word it that way for some reason. Here's from a quick Google Image search: (Link)
Tempting to correct it but in the end thought it was better to just go with it and just mention '-slash-Mentalist'. I'm inclined to think they did it on purpose though.

@Moe Fang Cool! Most of the time the telops/tags run parallel to what is being said so those would be left as is; those that give additional info are just what ends up in the sub. So yes, great job! Yours is more complete, and even look more polished with those positionings.
And by the way, it's up to you, but you don't have to keep the 'TAMUHAYA' bit in the upper left that stays on throughout the video :D Otsukaresama!

that a huge amount of data to lose. i think i read it somewhere that hard drive above 5 years old could be considered prone to issues and better been cast out with a new one.
before go far on recollecting have you tried everything possible to check the drive, like switch the case or you can put it directly into a laptop to see it still can be read(depend on the brand i guess, like WD has it built in so it cnt), check the socket, change the USB cable, what kind of noise(clicking) sound it produces?

Yep, almost all tags/telop is the same as what they say. Although part or full of your engsub, I add TAMUHAYA as an appreciation of your hard work :):D Even though I slowed the video to 0.5x and heard them carefully, I still didn't understand what they said (Morita is mostly "sometimes" too fast when he talks) :^^;:

I have been following this thread for quite a while now... Many thanks to all the Subbers, Translators, Timers and QC's for bringing so much Variety TV content across in English for folks who don't understand Japanese and get us closer to Nogizaka46 and other groups.

I have completed watching and thoroughly enjoyed Nogizakette Doko?, NogiBingo & Nogizaka Doko E. I am current with Nogizaka Under Construction. .

I have recently stumbled upon Nogi Eigo!! This is as hilarious and funny as NogiBingo but more decent and refined. But there are not many English Softsubs or Hard Subs available... As far as a I know, English Subs are available for EP 1, EP 4, EP 6, 2016 Spring Special, 2017 Spring Special, EP 16, EP 18, 2018 New Year SP, 2018 New Year SP Unaired Scenes, EP 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 & 30. Anyone planning to work on them or have anything else to share? Much appreciated!!

I happen to have 2 Indonesian EP 2 & EP 3 subs but the host has put a password for these RAR files and not revealed it. The filenames are: [SRGundan] NogiEigo ep 02.rar & [SRGundan] NogiEigo ep 03.rar
