This little one was 3 days on a roof. (ok, not the same as being 3 weeks as Ban)
    ^^

PS: I hate english being neutral. "the dog" could be female or male and I never know what to say. =/

Blah... we just had a 7.4 off the coast about 5 minutes ago.... lasted pretty long here in Tokyo. Small tsunami warnings and all of the networks have gone straight to news... perhaps they'll call it off in a few hours. The largest waves are predicted to be 1m, so hopefully not much damage will be caused.

All tsunami alerts and advisories have been lifted. No tsunamis. The worst reported damages so far is a house which collapsed, an 82 year old lady been struck (not stated by what), and some people getting stampeded by fleeing french people. Several regions are experiencing blackout.

Oh and no additional reported damage from the two troubled nuclear plants.

Perhaps someone should create a new traffic sign 'danger: french people on the loose'... [hehe]

Or "Danger: Wild French Ahead, Give-way" :fear:

Though I reckon it's pretty reasonable and understandable everyone would want to get away given wat happened a few weeks ago.

    Thanks Melos for the update.

I think the "fleeing French people" tweet was a joke. XD

Apparently there was some damage to roads as well. Currently 7 people are reported to be injured from the earthquake.

I'm relieved that the tsunami warnings were canceled; things could have gone a lot worse if a tsunami had come. (Not that the earthquake wasn't bad, of course, but the huge tsunami last time caused a lot of the destruction and deaths...)

I've just watched a documentary about New Zealand. It was filmed a couple of weeks before the February earthquake and it's shocking when they compare the 'before' images and the 'after' ones. I can't help thinking that, if that earthquake and the one in Japan caused so many deaths and havoc despite being two countries 'prepared' for earthquakes, something like that would be a hundred times worse in countries bad prepared like Spain... :(

Oh, I just had a talk with the travel agency boss, and it's not good news. There were three trips scheduled to Japan this year and so far...
    ...the one in April: cancelled
    ...the one in Juny: cancelled
...the one in August (my trip): hanging by a thread [sweat]
He told me that Japan has lost about 70% of the predicted tourists. Even though there is a lot of 'internal tourism' the foreign people are becoming more and more important so this is bad news indeed...

I don't think Spain has some story about earthquakes to take them as important... most probably a meteor falling on it has more chances than an earthquake...

    could be wrong, though.... O.O

PS: You can make some courses about rescuing and travel in a rescue team.
You would be volunteering working all day and not even near the places people would like to go (actually, you'll be right into places where none wants to go in scared for radiation)....

You WILL BE in Japan, though. ^^
