Kinda surprised, but competition at this time of the year is pretty weak. I mean, literally no one (particularly the big names) would want to release something new to start off the new year, other than those so-called "January 1st" releases...

I mean, we still have 50 weeks remaining in 2016...we still have a long way to go - and potentially four new AKB48 single releases this year!

Longevity is what counts. A truly popular song basically sells for 10+ weeks, especially for 48G since everything stops around then.

 

So apparently Shu & Komiharu are the centers of the Ice Tea song.
I can understand why Komiharu (she was everywhere in KBMB), but why Shu ?

 

Maybe because she's a senpai to all the other girls in that unit. She's been around for way longer than most of the others so it would be weird I think if she behind one of the others in the formation. I don't see why she's a member of that unit to be honest.

 

Those two are the oldest of the Mushi Kago girls - Komiharu at 18 and Shuu at 17.
