how? why? she just made it into senbatsu this year. nao has never been featured in AKB other than the ssk singles.

 

Nao was media senbatsu in Negaigoto, right before her winning senbatsu spot in SSK. After her winning senbatsu spot, there's none other than SSK singles.

Lol, with all those complains about Tomu in every single's thread, can I ask for Tomu's HS result for the last 4 singles?
Just curious, because as far as I remember her HS line is not that crowded everytime I pass it. Or maybe I came at the wrong time.

Well, nearly all of SKE members sold out their slot for SSK single. So I expect the same for those who enter top 16 in SSK.

So I tried to trace back the threads and found this.

Sorry Tomu fans, looks like shafting her in non ssk-result single was based on pretty objective metrics.

So yeah, like Cris said. Maybe she is not "shafted" after all.

 

Jabaja is also an outlier for the same "obvious reason". Tomu usually sells out between ~5 and 10 slots per single, and has for the last few years. And she does so in the second highest slot-count bracket. This is still more, and more consistent, than several senbatsu regulars who didn't even make SSK senbatsu let alone Kami 7. As people always say when defending those members, HS sales aren't everything either.

While I'm not claiming Tomu was "robbed", I do believe management really missed the boat in 2015 and 2016 when she had a gained a fresh wind and was catching people's eye, and they almost completely ignored her. Worse than that even, at least one staff apparently told her to talk less during MC because he(?) didn't like the way her voice sounded, nevermind that being too embarrassed to speak up and get noticed was one of her biggest weaknesses. She was finally getting becoming engaging in MCs and then...

About other metrics than HS, we will not know even the estimated numbers don't we?

About how they select senbatsu members, I think they have several groups of criteria.
Like for this one, all in top 20 in P48 will automatically get in. Then AKB girls with the best metrics on par with SG representatives, plus those with good enough general public awareness, add some more special pushes. Then they play with the composition. So yeah, no reason to include Sae and Moekyun unfortunately. I think they will get a b-side at least along with other P48 contestants. And maybe Tomu was out when they rank her based on the metrics, we all know she will not be in the special push category. (Based on that, I think Yuiri declined the offer to be in senbatsu)

Well, agree with they missing her momentum. Just like any 13-15 gen members that should be up front and center by now

The SSK result is meant for one single only, unless your HS result/ sales of goods/etc in the successive single also follow that SSK result.

They used to mention SSK officially in this format "XXXth single SSK" means the ssk result is indeed applicable for "XXXth single" only.

Of course, unless your HS result is consistently stellar (i.e Suda Akari!!! on ske and akb singles!) , and yet she is pretty much slept on by management.

Or, if at that sousenkyo single, management somehow played a dirty trick on her so that she get less screentime than someone ーaks god childーranked below her, such as suda akari who was slept on fot once again mnet and aks' love child Sakura.

 

Or, it can have somebody who REALLY needs to let things go and stop taking things so personally.
