*looks at myself* I can be a bit creepy as an AKB48 fan in front of my friends though... Seriously, I take your point though.

*looks at Hiruobi weather news* *looks at French Kiss + associated company CMs and promos*

    Really?

If you bought your CD through a store that Oricon counts, then yes it does. It's the Oricon sales figure...

Of course, just like how 940k isn't the final sales figure. Even if only half a million votes were cast everything is still too close.

Now is the time to track down those casual fans with unused serial numbers :awesome:

Sasshi making #7 isn't really that surprising at all.

But Yukirin at #3 is.

But that top 40 is just from 154054 votes and first day sales was 942475. [nod]
    edit: duh'oh too slow :fp:

Really. I know a ton of Japanese people who don't follow AKB and usually among the 5-6 girls whom they can name there's no Kashiwagi.

Could you tell me right now without looking it up the names of the people reading the morning weather in your country's TV?

    Sashi #7 Yaaaa

    Mariko, Itano = O___o

    Yuki #3 and beating Mayu = O____________o

    Myao, Komori = nooooo!!

    Yuka = Keep moving up!

I wonder if the results are gonna get more surprising or less as time goes on and more votes are counted.

Depends how popular the morning TV show is. Our breakfast TV show's generally fairly popular down here, and there are a few notable weathermen/women in other news programs (morning/evening), but I can see what you mean. Still, I wouldn't discount mainstream non-variety/music show exposure's effectiveness in the minds of the average public.

8 SKE and 2 NMB... fffffff most of the AKB UG is out of the rank [boom] [boom] [boom]

the only thing that made me happy is Yuka at #19  hope she can keep it.

Go Yukirin. [party] About time a really talented girl gets her rightful place.

But really, you guys are giving too much weight on this "election". :D

Early votes reek of wota influence. Yeah, those hardcore multiple times voting wotas. But then again they always are the ones deciding the outcome. Majority of casual fans just don't give a damn as long as they get to meet and shake the hands of their favorites.

Anyway, congratulations to whoever gets a one-time (if you're not Acchan) song as center.

Actually news casters and weather people are pretty well known in the UK and often do amusing things on the large charity fundraiser shows. I can easily name a good few of them and recognise the ones I can't name and I'm sure I'd know their names if they were also in a national idol group.(it's like if a girls aloud/the saturdays member did the weather, I'm sure I'd remember)

With all due respect, Fearless Leader, I don't think using reason so soon after the first round of results have been presented will quell the different varieties of rage frothing from the forum members.

Perhaps a little later on may be a better opportunity...

I can actually, but Japan's pretty unique when it comes to stuff like that. A lot of their announcers and newscasters actually have followings. Oh and hater, much? Yukirin sells the fastest at handshake events along with Yuko - as one person is limited to the amount that they buy, it can't just be a bunch of 'crazy' wotas buying heaps and heaps, you actually have to have a decent amount. I don't know why you're comparing her to Mayu either since she's pretty much the same fan-wise, and probably the least well-known to the public out of the kami7.

OMG YES!!! Go Yukirin!! [party] I knew she'd be able to make top 10, but a top 3 with the preliminary results is better than expected!

I'm glad people out there are recognizing her abilities. Her singing voice is great, she improved her stage presence a lot the past year and she's just irresistible on so many levels. She'll probably drop a bit in the end, but I'm loving the results so far.
