Hopes, Fears, and Predictions for AKB48 in 2011?

Hopes
- Sayaka will be reinstated "official" Team K Captain ('Cause no matter what anyone says, she's still the Captain.)
- Another AKB drama like Majisuka Gakuen
- Takamina gets a lead role in a drama
- NMB gets an amazing first single
- A7 by June
- Amazing opportunities come to ALL members

Fears
- Mariko graduation. No.
- NMB does not do well
- Everlasting stages
- Demotions (Like wtfreak with KII?)

Predictions
- ... not really a prediction, but a surprise announcement at a concert in the summer.

 

i wasnt too inspired for this year for some reason so i wasnt really sure what to write XD

Predictions:

AKB:
- Mariko will graduate this year. Maybe Tomochin too
- an unexpected graduation. maybe even mass graduations from the less popular girls.
- Yui gets bumped to senbatsu status.
- every akb single for this year will sell over 1 million. election single sells over 1 million in the first day and something similar will happen for the resting singles of the year. akb dominates the yearly top 5
- 5 singles again. the last one being a luck single again. hopefully this time i'll be promoted like it should.
- Album sells over 1 million. (might not happen)
- my beautiful 9 gen bbs get added to a team i agree with.
- sasshi gets top 12 in the election. its bound to happen

SKE:
- break year. SKE starts getting mainstream
- 4/5 singles this year. at some point, the singles will start selling over 300k
- 1st SKE Election happening. (im not really sure with this, maybe its still too soon and they'll wait for 2012)

SDN:
- more singles. over 150k sales at some point.
- ...lods please?

NMB:
- we get to see their lod soon >_>
- sayaka and miyuki all over the akb singles. (the rest of the frontgirls as well)
- single debut later this year? hopefully.

ALL/other:
- new 48 group.
- Tokyo Dome for december. (6th Anni?)
- ALL48 dominates japan more than they did this year
- the election buss will be CRAZY. i can see them putting the girls' election posters all over tokyo lol

Hopes:
- amina gets a better result for the election. (probably not going to happen T_T)
- jurina gets the same rank, if not better (this will be hard as well)
- Minarun makes it to front-undergirls in the election. most of 9 gen makes it as well.
- the new 48 happens relatively soon.
- CONCERTS. i need shuffles. NOW.
- sakuran comes back? ;____________;

 

Hopes:

- South America concert! (Brazil has the biggest japanese community outside Japan)
- More Watirouka songs in lives
- French Kiss singles and Album

Fears:

- Graduations on team B
- Another shuffle on the teams
- Scandal involving Yukirin

Predicitions:
- Oku Manami Graduation

 

My Hopes for 2011

HOPES

- Umechan gets blog (edit: ~~kumako~~ glad you posted that...totally forgot to write this!)
- Sakiko GETS A BLOG PLEASE
- NO MASS GRADUATION since 9th gen girls are promoted!
- Paruru makes Team A, Ranran Makes Team K as well as Shimda Haruka , ooo Oba Mina makes it to Team A also~
- Unreleased stage cds be released (A4/K4/B1/B2/B3/H1/H2) (and H1/H2 have both team 1 & 2 girls...)
- Please have A7/K7/B6 stages this year...as much as i am loving the current stages i hope we get a new stage for each team by the end of the year..
- More "Team" songs in singles
- Hopes for more DIVA songs
- Sayaka gets her Team K Captain status back! its not the same without Sayaka being Team K's captain
- Still hoping for a "shuffle' best-of album from old stages with the current teams released...now that there is a possibility the rights to the songs have gone back to Aki-P
- (I know this is for AKB...but for SDN48 gets 2nd stage (and no shuffling Gen girls)..

Fears
- This year could be the year Mariko graduates~ T___T
- With the 9th gen girls promoted, some of the less popular members will be shafted to SDN or a 'secret' new 48 related idol group in the making? Lol..
- NMB48 will invade AKB singles pushing some of the senbatsu girls out...
- Umechan could be moved to SDN by the end of the year T___T
- All stages will continue till next year...

Predictions
- More graduations than last year...
- Could be another shuffle in the works to "fit-in" the 9th gen girls promotion
- Only Team K could see a new stage by the end of the year?...

 

Hopes
-a million seller
-more promotion for Under- and Theatergirls
-find a solution for the SKE on AKB single dispute (I don't really have a problem with that but some really seem to dislike it, so something else would be nice. Maybe a AKB/SKE/NMB collaboration single instead like they did with Idoling)
-Sayaka returns as Team K captain
-NMB single debut (I already like them a lot)

Fears
-Sayaka graduates or graduations in general
-changes in sub-group line-ups
-Research Students everywhere (It's ok for them to gain experience in stages etc., but there should be a clear distiction between full members and kenkyuusei)
-SKE singles will continue to be W Matsui with backdancers (I love Jurina, but it's too much)

- Sayaka returns to senbatsu (hey, my username says everything).
- More DIVA activities, better if becomes a promoted unit.
- Million selling singleS
- Tournament again for a senbatsu position
- Versions A, K, B for a single so that we'll have Team perf.
- Less exposure for kenkyuseis (I rather that more opportunities be given to official members).
- Senbatsu election will have a new winner; Jurina and Sayaka hopefully will do better (hehehe, AKB-purists will hate this).
- Majisuka season 2 or any drama that includes many members.

long shot: The Philippine media will make a big deal of Sayaka being half-filipina thus making Filipinos aware of AKB and will trigger the start of JPop fever here (hey, we have KPop fever last year).

Fears
- Sayaka will graduate or basically any graduation is a sad one for fans.
- Lessen in popularity (doubtful)
- Less opportunity/exposure for less popular members.
- More 48 groups will be formed (they should just make SKE and NMB more popular first).

Predictions
- Senbatsu election again and Atsuko will win (her fans won't let 2010 happen again).
- Janken tournament (it was a good money-making promotion).
- Still No. 1 Girl Group in Japan
- One fierce, dark single and at least one too fan-servicey single
- Sayaka will have the same treatment as this year but she'll do better with non-akb activities.

 

Hopes:
- Umechan gets a PB (I can dream!)
- Paruru in senbatsu... ofc!!
- Mayuyu gets 1# in next election [party]
- I want Paruru in B (I think I'm the only one that want this ._. )

Fears
- Umechan graduation ;;
- Someone of my favorite will graduated ;;
- No SDN LoD ¬¬

Prediction:
- Mariko will graduated xDD!!

Hopes:

Kayano returns to AKB48 (current age 16, turning 17 in February- I can still hope right?)
Kayano gets a starring role in drama/movie.
Sayaka returns to senbatsu where we can actually glimpse her in the PV
AKB48 continues to release ~4 PVs per single with awesome plots and with much , and by fans
AKB48 continues their international invasion (seriously come back to NYC!)
More girls continue to get side work.
More all 48+girls PVs
AKB48 movie! (that doesn't suck)
SDN48 LODs
AKB48 continues their domination of Oricon.

Fears:

Girls collapsing to stress and being overworked. Multiple hospitalizations.
Tanabe Miku continues to get shafted
9th Gen and later generations force earlier members to the back
NMB48 invasion of AKB
SKE invasion grows from 2 girls to 7 girls and to all of senbatsu, undergirls, and remaining units
Paparazzi hounding our girls
Fans doing crazy stuff
Anti-fans doing crazy stuff
Mass graduation/forced relocation to SDN48
AkiP will pull something, just because he can.

Predictions:

Takamina remains the awesome leader of AKB48
Sayaka gets her captain position back
Mariko will graduate
SDN48 will debut their 2nd stage and 3rd gen members.
NMB48 invasion of SKE48
Multiple new shows for AKB48/individual members
Girls will be signed to agencies so only kenkyuseis will be AKS
AkiP/AKS's bank makes a new vault just for them.
Japanese economy skyrockets everytime AKB48 decides to collaborate to promote a company/product
AKB48 vs Arashi fight repeats on the Top 10 singles of 2011

Hopes
-I get to see Mayuyu IRL again.
-Another song similar to RIVER and Beginner. Those two are downright awesome!
-For AKB48 to spread their music worldwide. They don't sell the albums and singles in Singapore, and they've performed here before. New fans need an easy way to get access to their music (I've only seen the Taiwan version of Kamikyokutachi around before).
-Watarirouka Hashiritai has a Singapore performance (lemme dream).
-Mikapon to improve on her stage performances. Seeing her in Singapore during AFA X has made me really dislike her, she ruined some of the songs I liked with her dancing (she even messed up lip syncing)!
-French Kiss to sing songs that don't really sound too anime-ish. Anisongs are fine and all, but I prefer a single that would be deserving to be released. Anisongs usually get compiled into a soundtrack and released after the anime ends anyway.

Fears
-I'll never see Mayuyu with these very eyes again.
-Mayuyu graduates and goes on to become a full-time manga-ka.
-Watarirouka Hashiritai 7 will replace Watarirouka Hashiritai for real.

Predictions
-All AKB48 singles released in 2011 will get on the Oricon charts (this is kind of a "duh" statement, I suppose).
-More subgroups to be formed to sing anisongs.
Haha, kinda bad with predictions, so I'll stop now.

 

Hopes:

Mayuyu or Shinoda becomes #1.
Majisuka 2 starring underclassmen from 1 PLUS SKE48.
SDN one-upping AKB....the older AKB girls are very grownup and sexy (see Heavy Rotation) so SDN will need to out-ecchi them. Or one can hope.


Fears:

Graduations: specifically Shinoda, Oshima, Akimoto. I fear those ones most.
That another year will pass without me seeing them.
Too much overseas work. I prefer them in Japan.

 

Hopes
- Sub groups/Undergirls continue to get more exposure alongside AKB48
- Takamina gets a solo album
- Sasshi's show is evenly presented
- Sayaka remains captain
- For members who don't have blogs yet... blog please~
- A movie or series involving the members, Majisuka was really fun on it's own but more is always welcome
- It's a long shot but an AKB48 educational programme of sorts?

- Overall opportunities for each member
- More radio shows
- More exposure for members

Fears
- Graduation
- Mass Graduation
- Shuffle T_T seriously, let's not get into what the last one did...
- Any member getting hurt or ill T_T Stay healthy!

Predictions
- Takamina gets a solo album
- Sayaka remains captain
- No Graduations for this year

 

Still not thinking of everything.. but here's a start.

Hopes:
- The monster push of Sasshi will back off. I love her getting recognized, but it's too much.. see fears..
- Yui gets lots of love that she deserves but not just because they start pushing her like J/Sash..
- More 9th Gen Love. Ranran/Paruru get the first team spots when grads/transfers start..
- LET SKE STAND ON THEIR OWN.
- Let NMB jump on SKE like SKE did to AKB.
- North America Concert/Event. US or Canada. I don't even care. Over the summer would be best.
- Someday utilizes Sakiko. Girl's got mad skills.. let her use them. AT LEAST give her a blog.
- Sae decides on a girlfriend.
- KII3!!!!
- Tokyo Dome Concert
- I'm okay with a couple more solos.. but done on singles/albums like no3b/watari.
- Even pushes. Quit shoving one girl down our throats to the point its a turn off. Other girls deserve some of that too.

Fears:
- Sasshi's show will bomb. They're going to have to pull out some major stuff to compete with the other shows and I dont think they're that dedicated to the push, even though it's been a HUGE one. I love Sasshi, but I dont see this as a good move.
- Graduations.. Mariko probably, Tomochin if solo sells good, and maybe a couple lesser-popular girls to make way for more popular 9th Gen.
- Transfers to SDN. One to two. Umechan?
- Their popularity will peak this year. The election will do it. It will only go down from there.
- Too much going on all time time. Health concerns. Already started to see it a bit this year.
- A scandal turns out real bad this time.

Predictions:
- Graduations.. Ive not really experienced one yet. I'm not looking forward to this.
- They will give Sayaka back her captain status.
- Acchan takes back #1. Yuko #2.. Tomochin/Mayu will both pass Mariko, but she wont fall past 5.
- The election ticket single will be their million-seller. Easily.
- Possibly one, maybe two new stages by the end of 2011. I bet money we don't see all three.
- More scandals.. of course. It's gonna happen. They're the most popular girls anywhere, it's gonna happen.
- Another good scary announcement. Haven't had one in a while. Ugh..

 

All my feelings come together and mixed...

-Regarding the group: I hope AKB48 consolidates as the group number 1 in Japan, doesn't die from success and keeps on being 'idols people can meet'; their songs, their stages, their PVs keep on giving us good vibes and making us dream, love, smile, cry,.. My predictions are more sister groups in Japan and perhaps even in another country.

-Regarding the girls: I hope Miichan doesn't graduate and gets a better senbatsu ranking and more screen time. It would be nice too if Suuchan went upper the ranking. I fear some scandals will arise and I hope the group recovers easily from them. Predictions? Some important senbatsu will graduate.

-Regarding the management: I hope they definitely care for us poor gaijins and keep on improving our choices to attend shows (and, dreaming is free, to attend handshackes, two-shots...). An English version of the web would be appreciated

-Regarding me: I hope I learn more members (before they graduate) and become a better fan. [rock]

 

HOPES:
~~Someone other than Atsuko and Yuko is number one in senbatsu
~~Shizuka and Oku make it into senbatsu
~~AKBingo and Shukan are made an hour long
~~Takamina and Yukirin don't change a thing about themselves
~~Either Genking or Miichan named K Captain
~~Shinoda graduates/moves to SDN/quits. Please.
~~Kojiharu and Sayumin secretly meet under a blooming sakura tree in spring and declare their love for each other. They elope and form their own singing duo. GL fever sweeps across the country. Their first single remains in the Top 10 for the rest of the year.

FEARS:
~~AKB, SKE and NMB become extensions of each other

PREDICTION:
~~Another excellent year!

Well DIVA is still NOT an official unit, but at least they're getting a second song.

and more importantly, MAJISUKA TWO!!!!! ZOMG!!!!

Health issues due to over-work.

Slightly afraid of "too much of a good thing". As long as they aren't releasing more than 3-4 singles a year, then it shouldn't be too bad. Unfortunately, seems like we're hitting a tipping point in the media. So many TV shows and commericials. In like a 2 hr span, I saw like 17 AKB commercials for many different products.

But, Akimoto and his folks have been at this for decades, so it seems like they're doing a good job of putting "too much" out there.

As for the health issues, these girls just work so hard... you just see them sprawled out in the dressing room/backstage/or where ever they can catch a little shut-eye. Aside from their AKB schedules, you see so many of them popping up individually on numerous variety shows.

 

Predictions
- One Major Graduation.
- Another Chance Senbatsu
- A new #1 at Elections
- One of the captains will make a big jump (a la tomochin this year) in popularity.
- Someone new will rank in media senbatsu
- SDN new stage, stage album, and first concert.
- NMB single debut, >12 senbatsu
- New stages, B -> K -> A

Hopes
AKB
- No one will get a Jurina or Sashiko level push. It's too much.
- AKB drops the same 10 8 6 girls bull.
- ^We see a bigger video/media/face senbatsu.
- Aki-P drops writing duty for 1 ooo48 group.
- At least 2 undergirls promoted to full senbatsu.
- A senbatsu free Undergirls opportunity. Drama or Under/Diva/Theater-gumi stage.
- All Pigg songs get released
- A throwback single with a DefStar-era feel and lineup.
- A male-48. Do it Aki-P!
- Marumusic pumps out a Japanfiles/Hellostore USA equivalent for us gaijin.

SDN
- A new stage, with at least 1 LOD.
- Stage album and DVD
- Some sort of proper division of the 36 members.

SKE
- Drop from AKB, work on making SKE a household name.

- Proper team N.

- Too much ooo48 in my AKB
- Continue to mix armies, same 20 girls being the only ones relevant.
- Any SDN transfers.
- Graduating any overlooked or underused girls.
- Too many KKS that results in a slaughter
- A ridiculous scandal that takes out someone undeserving.
