Hello everyone I am Nao Ota from AKB48 Team 8 holding concurrent post in Team B. I will be participating in the world senbatsu general election this year. I’m sure it will be a tough battle since it is world senbatsu and I am really anxious but I won’t give up till the end. So I will be happy if I have your support and I will do my best. I am not good at serious talks so I had my mom make bento for good luck. Its Hamburg Bento. I love Hamburg the most. Yummy. Lastly it was everyone’s idol Nao Ota. No that’s not it. It was Nao Ota born in Kyoto from Team 8.

I was really troubled over whether to apply for sousenkyo last year. But after all, if I don’t change, then neither will my position. But if I were to rank in the sousenkyo, then maybe it can change. At least that’s what I thought, so I applied. Before then, I couldn’t bring myself to tell fans that I wanted to rank in. I didn’t say anything, so they thought that I had no interest, but that really wasn’t the case. Then for the first time I said it on SHOWROOM. While crying (lol). And with those words that I’d been wanting to say, everyone pushed me on the back. And so thanks to everyone, I ranked at 65th.

Because of this, I’ve gotten more confidence in myself, and the results are that my standing in Team 8 has changed, and I’ve gotten more work which until now I didn’t have much of a chance for, so I’m very glad. I also think that the bonds I have with my fans have gotten deeper.

This February was my 365th consecutive day of streaming on SHOWROOM for 15 minutes. And in that broadcast there was a surprise announcement that I’d get a solo photo book and I started crying (lol). This year too, I want to challenge many things.



Going into personal here, but as I've been very slowly able to actually do handshake events with 8s, honestly Nao has been the member who has impressed me the most. Instead of getting flustered when suddenly seeing a very clearly foreign person and clamming up, she very seriously studied my face and said "Oh, I haven't seen you before. Tell me your name, I want to remember it."
New type of fishing? idk but she genuinely comes off as really earnest and down to earth

I guess Nao is a bit too busy now. I got no feeling of Team West Captain from the questionnaire.

She is such a lovely girl. In yesterday's HS, anyone who is going to her lane get a copy handwritten thank you letter from Nao. I don't find any other member doing the same in the entire dome.
