It's not just those groups, 2 of the 3 monster 4th gen idol groups, G-Idle and Itzy (the 3rd being IZ*ONE) are set to make their comebacks near those dates too.
ITZY's Not Shy isn't coming out until two weeks later. I don't know if that is considered a near date. TITLE TRACK “Not Shy” 2020.8.17 MON 6PM https://twitter.com/ITZYofficial/status/1288851854743478272
Spoiler: G-Idle, CB, RCPC and Everglow release history G-Idle "I Am" – May 2, 2018 G-Idle "Hann (Alone)" – August 14, 2018 Cherry Bullet "Let's Play Cherry Bullet" – January 21, 2019 ITZY "It'z Different" – February 12, 2019 Everglow "Arrival of Everglow" – March 18, 2019 G-Idle "I Made" – February 26, 2019 Cherry Bullet "Love Adventure" – May 22, 2019 G-Idle "Uh-Oh" – June 26, 2019 ITZY "It'z Icy" – July 29, 2019 Rocket Punch "Pink Punch" – August 7, 2019 Everglow "Hush" – August 19, 2019 Everglow "Reminiscence" – February 3, 2020 Rocket Punch "Red Punch" – February 10, 2020 Cherry Bullet "Hands Up" – February 11, 2020 ITZY "It'z Me" – March 9, 2020 G-Idle "I Trust" – April 6, 2020 G-Idle "I'm the Trend" – July 7, 2020 G-Idle "Dumdi Dumdi" – August 3, 2020 Rocket Punch "Blue Punch" – August 4, 2020 Cherry Bullet "Aloha Oe" – August 6, 2020 ITZY "Not Shy" – August 17, 2020 I counted stuff that was 6 days or less as "close" so that'd be RCPC and CB in February and now GI, RCPC and CB in August. Pink Punch and Hush were released fairly close (12 days), and Reminiscence was also just a week earlier than Red Punch and Hands Up. I think it'll take more releases to actually see a pattern, but so far, RCPC and CB seem the most like direct rivals to me. That was probably because they had to re-arrange stuff with members leaving. I wonder if they're ever gonna go back to releasing proper stuff. Hands Up and Aloha Oe are both just digital singles.
My gosh! It's such a WONDERFUL Summer Album! OMG! How am I supposed to choose which one to play on repeat? Spoiler For the Off/On-Topic (G)-IDLE and Dreamcatcher are dropping their August comebacks on the same day
Rocket Punch, Cherry Bullet, Everglow and Itzy all sit around 6 months on average between releases so the moment they "synch up" we get this pattern of them all promoting at the same time. Everglow is the most prolific with <6 months between their releases up until now, RCPC deviates the least, and CB manages to stick around 6 months because they'd done a few digital singles instead of minis. Itzy has kept pace with Everglow, except they had >7 months between Icy and Wannabe. Luckily for these groups (G)I-dle is faster than all of them so next comeback they at least won't have to face them... as long as nothing changes.
It's definitely a cute song, but, what happened with Juri? She had a TON of lines in the Debut Title Track, but we're two comebacks in and she's got a lot less lines. Or am I just tripping?
I thought the exact same! It made me sad. I guess it can't be helped, since she isn't fluent and now the other girls are gaining more fans. I suppose it was a good move to show a lot from Juri in the debut to attract attention but now they don't need that as much. It's sad :/
I'm assuming it's mostly something to do with singing ability, I don't know how their producers choose but most k-pop producers seem to pick whoever sounds the best singing a line, both the vocals themselves and the delivery. Juri sings well but her voice is more warm and calming and lower than the others. Yeonhee got a lot of good lines and she has a much higher, brighter voice. So I think it's mostly an issue of fit. There are line distributions out on YouTube already, Juri actually is #4 in lines because she has a lot of the more subtle lines (the first ju-ju-ju-ju-juice, a few words before Sohee's first line, that da-da-da-da-da that is repeated throughout the song) but Yeonhee (who is #5) stands out more since she got more solo parts and the bridge. As for the others, Yunkyoung is #1, Suyun #2, Dahyun #3 and Sohee #6. Juri is dead last in solo/focus screentime though, I'm assuming it's because she has fewer standout-lines and thus less opportunity for it :/
But, those aren't even cohesive lines? Background noises are just that: background noises. Sigh. Hopefully, one day, she'll have more decent line distribution again. For now, like I said, it's not a bad song at all.
Right, but she's not silent. She's still singing something. I did notice all of her proper lines come at the end of the song, so you end up going a bit "huh? Where's Juri?" until then. I do want her to get more lines. Hopefully they make good use of her voice if/when they do more mature songs (Dahyun said she wanted to, when she's older ).
Can't find it now and I didn't count myself to confirm it, but there was a youtube comment that said juice/juicy was spoken 45 times

Explanation taken from bluebirdeyes in one of the comments in the video. "In Korea, the word "cider" (as in soda) is used when a frustrating thing/situation is cleared away, kinda like soda will clear your throat. In these scenarios, one member is being frustrating, but the response is refreshing! Therefore, cider!"
