It's very risky for a not very popular girl to release a CD.
There have to be a strong production team who knows what they are doing to make it work.
even some former popular girls who are now solo artists are struggling with the sales.

I'm a nogi fan, haven't been following AKB since my oshi Tomochin graduated... That Last Christmas cover tho caught my heart. It's a beauty! I have a reason to get back to AKB now, can anyone help me get to know more into Miyu?

She performed both songs on a release event last friday in Shiodome/Tokyo at their Tower Mini (Tower Records Store).

I was nearby and bought the album. When u bought the album on site, u got a coupon to get it autographed.

Before the mini live started they had a sound check where they played the songs without a large audience.

Later at 12 there where probably 50 people that gathered there.
I told her that I learned about this event from her twitter. because I knew she studied in New York for some months I approached her in english and she speaks english very good. She asked where I was from and said she was in Germany two years ago.

It is a good album. Bought it when I went to Japan back in Halloween. Her 2 songs are great and the other artists are good too. I enjoy the full mv of miyu song that isn't on YouTube.

This happen to appear on my recommendation to watch. She is great, however I hope she got more chances to showcase her talent. Vocal senbatsu with jazz kind of song maybe?

I don't know why but it's a fact that many of good singer are not insanely popular in AKB48. For example Besides Miyu, in the past we have Masuda Yuka and Wasamin. Unlike them, many girls whose forte isn't singing may be popular and centered some songs/singles.
Recently Miyu's youtube uploads surprise me because she is very good at singing, her absolute pitch is no joke. Trying to be popular with skill,talent, and effort is hard. The fastest/instant one is using promotion such as variety show,showroom, also sometimes a rumor or scandal might work.
Well, maybe I want Miyu to be soloist rather than centering a dance formation. why does she has to be popular first to have solo single? why not having solo single then become popular because of the single shows her skill, talent and effort? Is this how the world works? OMG.

 

i meant it's very hard nowadays to sell a solo single, talent is not enough, popularity helps but it requires more work.
Look where Tomochin is. Her latest single sold something like 7k in it's release week, Yuka sold in the 4k range.
And we have here a former super popular girl and an mid popular one, and both these girls are in agency (as well as Wasamin)
Miyu on the other hand has no agency to back her (more or less required), and her popularity can't help her, she has to use other tools (and she does).

 

She has an agency, it's called OH ENTERPRISE, but I get what you mean.

I think she's doing good with her own pace. I guess she has something in mind, and Aki-P definitely knows her amazing talent. Perhaps Aki-P is waiting for a good moment? We'll never know.
