Plot
Pegasus Bookstore is going through hard times due to competition from internet bookstores. Aki Kitamura (Mayu Watanabe) and Riko Nishioka (Izumi Inamori) are employees at Pegasus Bookstore. Aki Kitamura is 23 years old. She has a strong will and freewheeling personality. She places her job and dreams above marriage. Riko Nishioka is a 40-year-old single woman. She is the vice-manager at the bookstore. She has pride in her work. The two women have completely different personalities.

I really enjoyed this drama! The plot was unexpectedly interesting,

and with a cliffhanger at the end..

I was watching it while being too excited so I have yet to fully grasp the story, so I'll have to rewatch it once it gets uploaded Mayu really surprised me with this one, her acting was well above my expectations. The other cast, especially Inamori Izumi were really good too. Overall seems like a very good drama! Can't wait for ep2!

 

just watched 1st episode and I am impressed with Mayuyu's character and her acting skill. Its been awhile since Mayuyu's last drama and she improved alot.
Nice to see Yuria in this drama as supporting cast and hope she will involved in later episode. looking forward to 2nd episode next week.

*As long as i knew.. this is "dangerous" for golden-time slot drama. i know that "Shoten girl" has become trending tropic, but... this is a proof that..Shoten girl was yet really catchy for public. i'm trying to be positive in here. its still early, so i cannot decide about that.. but, i feel worried for sure.


My critics, why Shoten girl cannot reach high rating ? (or normal rating for golden-time drama = +8%). **i yet watch the drama so i cant show my opinion yet... but, i would like to express my feeling wich limited on what i knew** :

1. Because the theme of drama. In my opinion, comparing to other same-slot drama like TBS drama "Mother Game". Shoten girl theme is kinda...loose. (Not boring but... its more like, not make you excited).

2. The additional cast. No doubtly mayuyu is one of most recognizable face in japan. But.. this is still her FIRST-TIME to played as a main role in golden slot-time drama. So, japanese people still have a thought that mayuyu is.. still an amateur actrees and its was worth to watch her drama. (TBS "Mother Game" have mucher popular and senior cast in their drama, so i cant blame them.. its also work for NHK "Bijo to Danshi", since they casted Nakama Yukie who is one of the biggest name in acting industry)

3. Face the fact, when it comes to dorama.. TBS is more popular than Fuji Terebii.

But ... i'm still glad for mayu. i couldnt say i'm not dissapointed with those rating.. but, its still early to judging. i still hoping for this drama to be a hit.. or at least make a good rating for next week.

Mayu is very hardworking person. I'm really apreciate that. and i'm still proud of her

I think it's an ok rating, Not great. But with it trending on twitter last for a quite a while. Hopefully it will catch on and the rating goes up.

It's interesting they have dramas airing every single day. The show didn't capture my attention from the start but, I'll give the second episode another try before giving up. GOME MAYU

for starter..this drama really just seem so ordinary for me in term of synopsis or how the story will progress..
since i'm an avid anime & manga fan..this type of story u can seem really read or see it typical shoujo manga

so that's left me not feeling kinda excited..since i'm wish the story will have kinda unique story
but since many people or her non fans kinda give good review about mayu performance..so that's why i'm watch this drama to see mayu acting

the story was just some light drama and maybe this drama target was more for woman audience..
as for mayu performance..i'm surprised it actually looks good for her..she active in here & mostly in positive energy..but i wish they give her character her little umph maybe she overreacted or clumsy girl just to give audience more hook in her character..
just like sohee in happy rose day drama (my favourite kpop girl & mayu my favourite jpop girl for me) where her character active, energetic & cute for me..but maybe it just work in kdrama only..

the male lead character was not appeal in this story but maybe we can see it in next episode
