The AKB48 Group Sixth Singing Contest is scheduled to take place in late May 2024.
Members and kenkyuusei from AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, NGT48 and STU48 were able to audition for the contest between April 4th and April 19th, 2024. On May 20th, it was announced that the overseas groups will participate for the first time. Judging for both domestic and overseas candidates will be held on May 29th and 30th with two overseas members advancing to the finals.
