February
- 22 - A "Nogizaka46 New Project" is officially announced during the Nogizaka46 3rd Anniversary Concert, what would later become Keyakizaka46.
June
- 27 - Auditions start for what is then known as "Toriizaka46" (鳥居坂46).
August
- 21 - Final examinations end and 22 people are officially unveiled as the 1st Generation. The group's name is changed from "Toriizaka46" to "Keyakizaka46".
September
- 17 - Suzuki Mizuho leaves the group.
October
- 4 - Keyakitte, Kakenai?, the group's first own TV program, starts.
November
- 11 - Harada Mayu leaves the group without any send-off activities.
- 14 - The group's first event, a "Choose your most noticeable member" introduction meet, is held at Tokyo Zepp DriverCity.
- 30 - Hiragana Keyaki is unveiled during an episode of Keyakitte, Kakenai?, and along with it Nagahama Neru as its first member.
2016
January
- 30 - The group performs Seifuku no Mannequin as the opening act at LIVE EXPO TOKYO 2016 ALL LIVE NIPPON VOL.4, making it its first live performance.
March
- 17 - Keyakizaka46 Debut Countdown Live is held as the group's first mini-concert, showing off all songs on the then upcoming Silent Majority single.
April
- 1 - Keyakizaka46 Kochira Yurakucho Hoshizora Housoukyoku, Keyakizaka46's first radio show, starts broadcasting.
- 6 - Silent Majority, Keyakizaka46's first single, is released.
May
- 8 - The 2nd Generation is officially unveiled.
July
- 5 - KEYABINGO!, the group's 2nd TV program and a revival of AKB48's AKBINGO!, starts
August
- 10 - Sekai ni wa Ai Shika Nai, Keyakizaka46's 2nd single, is released
