She is back, she successfully completed university and is back to aiming for Kamen Joshi. Her and Misaki Kitagawa will be the new members of OZ and will appear at Maihama. I recall coming back from a job interview in Shibuya and I saw both of them at Shibuya station working really hard at giving out flyers for the Maihama live. It was kinda touching. I get that it's their job but they really put their all into the flyer handouts. I never really paid much attention to Slime Girls but looking closely the current lineup is pretty good, I think Aika has the best dance ability, but Hiyori has the best expressiveness. I have a ticket for this. I she said that she's playing the teacher role in this one, can't wait.

Report from probably one of the best lives I've ever attended. Today, 03/16, Alice Juban was in Osaka for Yuki's last Osaka/Nagoya tour, which meant Steam and Armor long stage all day. The first performance was "each unit will do a Juban song" special live. Slime did Shin Adventure, Cadets did Alice Rocking Horror Show, Armor did Saikyo Summer, and Steam did Makenaide. I really think Armor nailed it on Saikyo Summer, although the members' dance skills are more suited to the cute songs of Armor girls. Miishan managed to capture the Juban spirit quite well. However, I was more entranced by Yurie and Steam Girls' Makenaide. The last time they did a Juban song back in January, it felt like they were all kind of nervous but this time they went full out, almost as if Juban didn't even leave. A funny thing is that Waka messed up the part in Kokoroid right before the Misa/Moa solo where they get the fans to jump, so everyone's rhythm got out of sync for a bit. Second performance was "Shuffle the songs around", so any unit can do any other units' songs. Slime did Love & Joy (OZ), Cadets did Zenshin Dreamer (Slime), Armor did Mirai no Hikari (Cherry Blossom) and Moe Adventure (Pa-ken). Nobody in the venue expected Mirai no Hikari (coincidentally it was part of the cadets first performance and Cherry Blossom performance, and Steam Girls performance, so I think it was done 4 times today). Steam Girls did Quest (Slime) and Kirameki (Cadets). I think Armor Girls didn't shine so much outside of their normal songs this time around, except for Waka, who had done Mirai no Hikari many times during her cadet days, and just did it this morning as Cherry Blossom. She also managed to get the timing down for Kokoroid. I think they did pretty well on Moe Adventure, since all of them (except Waka) did it during their Pa-ken days. Steam Girls doing Quest was probably just as much of a surprise. Everyone except Sara had done it before, and for me personally, this was the first time I've seen Yurie do Quest since Countdown 2017→2018, so I was pretty happy. For Kirameki, I've seen it done by the current Cadets countless times, and its a great song, but holy crap, Yurie really outdid herself. I've seen a couple performances of her doing it on Youtube, but I've never been as moved by Kirameki until today. Honestly if you wanted to know what separates a Cadet from a full-fledged memeber, this is a good example. Yurie's movements were so expressive and clean, and I don't quite get the same feeling from the current cadets. I'm still in half-shock from it, I haven't been this moved by a performance since Nodoka's graduation where they made you think Natsu da ne was the last song, and they followed up with Wohhhh. I immediately went and bought the dvd afterwards, since today was full of great songs. Between performances after grabbing lunch I passed by Armor Girls returning from flyer handouts, and Momomin noticed me and gave a big smile, she was very cute.

March 17, 2019 KAMEN JOSHI: Alice10 member Yuuri Kinoshita celebrates her 17th Birthday Never realized she possessed these kinds of musical skills. A surefire formula to get on my favorites list. Such amazing melodies backed by furious instrumental textures and layers, it's impossible to grasp entirely in only one play through. Props to famed musician, only known as "Rookie Fiddler", who provides some amazing shredding on many of the AMAGA tracks. Well said, but I think that's most, if not all of Alice Project repertoire, and exemplified especially with Armor Girls. If you compare the original Pa-ken Kokoroid with the Armor Girls Kokoroid, it's actually crazy how many more layers there are in the new version, even though both versions are great. The only thing that's a little sad is that actually being at the live doesn't allow you to hear all of the wonderful instrumentation offered by the songs.
Indeed I'll take that one step further and say that sometimes the visual aesthetics can be a distraction of sorts (in a good way), inhibiting the pure auditory experience. But in reality, the enhanced, heightened excitement that Destroyers bring to the live makes for an acceptable trade off for hi fidelity. Speaking of layers and textures, and never letting an opportunity slip by to examine the audio side of the "show", some fascinating examples from the Alice10 disco. Posting not necessarily for you Samurai, for I'm quite certain you have dug in deep, but for the casual passerby of these pages who may not have gone quite as deep as some of us have and perhaps somewhat distracted by the visual presentation. *Fusion Girl The voice loop with the am radio effect that is tucked neatly underneath the main guitar riff, as well as the verses, adds a certain nuance that further combined with the air raid siren blaring, only relenting enough to allow the horn section to appear behind the vocal chorus, certainly makes for a unique element in the production. Once recognized, these subtleties can never be "unheard". if the video does not show watch the video here Similarly stylized, "Jumpin' Baby" also contains a perpetual scratch x voice loop that appears and re-appears. Noticeably absent during the pre chorus, and thus giving way to the horn section in the chorus. if the video does not show watch the video here "Horror Show" also contains an element loop behind the main guitar riff and the verses that enhances the overall experience. if the video does not show watch the video here Plenty more examples in the Steam Girls collection as well, but a little more expected due to them being more synth based and synths are easier to stack in a mix, whereas those big, distorted guitars featured in the Alice10 collection absorb a lot of the audio spectrum, making it slightly more of a chore to add additional textures. Back to the current, tokyosportsmovie delivers an extended look at yesterdays live. Waaaaay to short though, I was hoping to see Cerisier doing KJ, if they even did. Chainsaws and Masks would have scarred those girls for life. if the video does not show watch the video here
Something I noticed lately: How much sleep does Moa actually get/need? I noticed that her "goodnight" and "goodmorning" tweets follow one other up in a pretty short time. Today there was just 3 hours between them. I know Idols in general tend to (get to) sleep less long then average but it looks to me that with Moa it gets extremely short.
Maybe they cloned her The "MOA24" Forever at age 24. Spoke to soon, Cerisier did indeed pull the"Red String of Fate".
