And yes, that "soon". The same as Squenix's freaking 5 year "soon". Which means something between 5 years and NEVER

According to screenshots of Nikkei Ent, even with 200+ lives, AKB still pulls something like 37k viewers per... So I don't actually think its too overstated. To put it in perspective, There are only 3 US albums thus far this year with over a million unit sales (including digital) and AKB's managed to achieve that with a higher price point. So yeah, they're profitable.

 

I think Kojiharu will graduate next year but I don't see Takamina graduating any time soon.

If the remaining 1st gen were going to graduate at the same time I would expect a no3b center song

Ngzk46 will release their album on Jan 7th

 

I can see Takamina graduating on 2015-12-08.

 

MTE. It would be a nice touch to her career because she was the first AKB48 center.

 

It's not that easy.

To achieve 1 million copies sold akb has to pay for a massive venue for four full days, transportation + hotel costs for around 300 girls. And don't forget that even US artists that sell a million copies of their album get most of their revenue from their long concert tours.

 

I'm with you two. I'd be surprised if she doesn't graduated on that date.

Yeah I was just going to say that... They have a lot more costs than just printing CDs and frankly the whole handshake thing seems to be becoming more and more costly to run.

I wonder if this album will have 2-shots again? Or will they think it too dangerous now..

 

I definitely agree with you there, but there's also some perspective to be had: AKS is a solid management company. They've been doing this stuff for 10 years now with AKB alone, not including the production they've done for other groups as well. I'd be surprised if they didn't do the cost-benefit analysis for AKB48 and found that the profits from this additional album would be more than worth it.

 

My heart will be shattered when she graduates.

 

It'll be really sad when all of first gen graduates. But at the same time, I've always kept a bet and have been hoping that Takamina chooses to become a part of AKS management as opposed to just being a celebrity.

 

I think the same.
She could still be the general manager after graduating. I just want her to keep being part of it somehow.

For units, I hope they get the categorizations right this time - Oba Mina looked out of place when she is put in with Mayuyu, Non, Shu, Lemon, Sakura and Nako. Some are okay though (Takamina, Churi, Nana, Rie, Mocchi and Umechan are just a PERFECT combo though)

Your entire post... MTE... 38th single had 11 new songs? Kojizaka and all the team songs could be saved for the album.

It is related because you need 16 new songs to make a stage, if aki p keeps taking songs and putting them into albums instead of saving them for the stages it's just gonna delay the stages as he will need to write even more new songs. Frankly though if there are good units in this album that can substitute the stage units and act as the signature song for the girls I really wouldn't mind, I just hope that it isn't like 1830m where it's just duets.

Well there was Watashi Leaf which is Jurina & AnRiRe even though I wish it was Paruru with AnRiRe instead. I would want Annin to get something since Ricchan already had Haste to Waste.

 

Looks like Yuihan's solo song will be on this album.

"Yuihan's solo"… Linguistically, they're designating one that we have already acknowledged.. So "May," then? Disappointing.. I've obsessed over that song for forever now.

Unless that's just a poor translation.. It could be THE solo, or A solo..So do we get a NEW Yuihan solo? I sure hope so.
