why do you say they can be considered a separate entity from JKT since they carry the name of the said group?

 

I just found an article on CNN that said many Malaysian youths today are speaking Indonesian language, then, is 48g in Malaysia still worth?

So I think if there will ever be a 48g in Malaysia, that would be like Team TP or formerly known as TPE48 in Taiwan

Also, Malaysia & Taiwan are actually not very populous, Tokyo has more people than each of these 2 countries

 

TPE48 could happen because Taiwanese are fond of Japan and Taiwan was affected by Japan so it is prominent market.

 

Japanese popular cultures are very popular abroad especially in East & Southeast Asia

But yeah, idol isn't as popular as anime

I wonder if a new Japan48 SG or AKB48CHINA group will ever exist. SNH48 introduced CGT48 not too long ago so there's either:
AKB48 Team SY (Shenyang), AKB48 Team WH(Wuhan), AKB48 Team CS (Changsha) without going straight on into competition with the SNH48 SGs

Also, I wonder if MUB48 and DEL48 will ever resume operations...

A country I would love to have a 48G would be the US but that is not as likely, Especially now that both HYBE and JYP are making groups in the states...

To be honest rather than JKT48's own sister group, I hope more for an Indonesian based 46 group. But is it even possible?

 

Please, We need this, Also a Chinese based 46 group since they have a big fandom in China and Taiwan.
The only one I think is "possible" is one in Thailand though. Given BNK48's agency has the right of 46G stuff already.

Meanwhile, is there a chance for creating a new domestic sister group (in Japan)? That should be in Sapporo, Hokkaido. I believe Hokkaido has more relevance than Niigata & Setouchi. In 2013, there was a proposal of a sister group based in Sapporo, Hokkaido named SPR48 & the website had been registered but it never came true. Now value of 48g in Japan has been going downhill so reviving this old proposal, though not impossible, but it's very hard

 

Imo a US based jpop group with AKB48 format could never hope to exist as a mainstream musical act, But perhaps as a live musical theatre act, maybe. As an alternative to small independently run theatre and comedy shows found in Los Angeles or San Francisco Japan Towns it could maybe exist. And if someone with exceptional singing and attractiveness could catch the public eye who knows. But with pubic success would come public scrutiny and as soon as footage of members fan service ends up on TMZ it’s over.

Another city i thought could work is Honolulu Hawaii. Under the ala moana mall is a large “izakaya” concourse of Japanese restaurants and shops, even a small “temple” but tourists go to Hawaii for Polynesian acts (and gorge on pork and mai tais, ) not so much transplanted Japanese acts. Also the sunken tomb of the USS Arizona is just a few kliks from the area (awkward)

These groups would only be sustainable arthouse nonprofits at best. Such a venture could never attract members that could rival the power 18th gen (can any idol group match those 8 debutants?) unless they are going to charge $100 - 250 per seat and rely on non monetary returns for benefactors (not all ROI is money, wink wink, doesn’t have to be illegal NGT48 way but still questionable) would there be any hope for quality members to justify ticket prices.

Then theres the good ol’ govt regulation US version (same everywhere, really) Los Angeles may be a cesspool of corruption and vice but any successful new venture draws the attention of the fake puritans in office. “Nice business you got there, hate for anything to go wrong with your permits, maybe we can help you, [palms up]”

After reading all of what i just wrote it’s a very cynical take on the industry. But if a US group could be marketed as a real youth activity, like high school drama class, or competitive cheerleading, maybe all those scenarios i wrote about wouldn’t exist. But what happens when the opening beat for “Dear my Teacher” fills the theater?

 

I also think a HNL48/HLL48 could happen but be a smaller group compared to a "regular" 48G. Kinda like what JNR48 does in China.

How about Hokkaido? Anyway, if only there were a 48 group based in Hokkaido or exactly, Sapporo, I'm pretty sure the group's debut song would be titled "Girls Be Ambitious"

 

I wanna see SKE48 overtake Japan as the main 48G someday. But I would like to see some existing 48G reform out of nowhere or a SDN48 kinda group. A Hokaido group would be definitely great but I would like it to be THE new rival of current 48G. Like, 48G Revolution.

 

I actually wish to have a group in Fukui or any cities with an F so we'll have a Team F

 

I wonder about kennin too, We are seeing KLP48 have 4 members transfer to the group. Will newer SG get multiple kennin?
Will we get some more non xxx48 format units like Quadlips. Will we get something like Team 8 or an AKB48 Supergroup?
The future looks promising but also very interesting.
