Mexico48 Rumour Discussion

Via AKB Daily,

Last night AkiP interviewed by NTV and he said / announced that Mexican Government sent him a request letter to make a sister group in Mexico City in 2016.

Lol after Manila declared their own and invited Team 8 to performed there, now Mexico requested it.

Where will be the 3rd overseas sister, Manila (Philippines) or Mexico Ciry (Mexico) ? Just wait.

 

Hmmm what should we name this? MXC48?

MNL48 would be minuscule compared to the huge cultural hurdles that this Mexican proposal would entail, and already, some Mexican wota seriously doubt the scheme would work.

 

Why would the Mexican government be interested in a Mexican 48 group? And why would their government play a role in this anyway? Unless they'd use it for propaganda purposes, like the Abe government has used the Japanese groups on occasion?

 

Maybe they are interested to try to use it as a bridge between Mexico-Japan, tourism and entertainment wise?
I'm not a Mexican but i also doubt that this will work out nicely.

Back in 2009~2010, Aki-P actually received offer from Indonesia, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Russia to create a version of 48 in their country.

Mexico is not that much of a surprise after seeing JKT (Majority Muslim) and SNH (Enemies).
I still can't wrap my head around Russia.

Yes! I as Indonesian kinda surprised when AkiP has made a group in the biggest Muslims country and one in their enemy country (lol too much watching MG5 sorry).

If Mexico is like believable since there's so much Japanese stuffs fans in Latin America, from poverty to rich and politicians. It's interesting and a good market one if they make it there, but, when it finished it'll look like the weirdest Idol Group ever lol. And I don't have any negative thinks in Government, they just like and want it, like Paruru's Belgian Politician Fan in some months ago.

Well in some countries there's a difference between a governments policies and the personal hobbies of (government) politicians.

I could probably see a group from latin America or south America maybe but i would definitely have to hear them sing an akb48 song in Spanish first just to make sure i like it.obviously akimoto can't write lyrics in Spanish so these groups would definitely be singing akb songs in Spanish.imagine like beginner with a reggaeton beat or a bachata beat haha.

Before SNH, i think there's a rumor that Aki-P will create Seoul48 or something. CMIIW but if i remember correctly SNH help expanding the 48 fanbase to south korea, i remember reading something about SNH fanbase in S.Korea

 

I was being sarcastic! Every time there's a discussion about the possibility of a new foreign 48 group, the most hardline weeaboo's think it will never work because the girls in other countries are too rude, not as morally perfect or simply too brown skinned for it to work.

The guy in the picture with Aki-p is Pedro Damian, is the producer for "teen and young adult content" for one biggest TV networks here, back on the early 2000s he was kinda the "hit maker".
