Looking at the uni groups on facebook, really dont seem like there is anyone i can relate with AKB there xD Im free with which ever~ ^^ Also ill be down for Hyper Japan as well!

Re: AKB fans in UK gather~ Hihi, I'm an AKB fan living in the outskirts of London, the meet-up sounds like a really good idea and I'd totally be up for tagging along if something got organised in London. I've never been to karaoke before so I'd love to give it a go. I got into AKB around the time of the last election, I caught a bit of it being livestreamed on Youtube, but I didn't become a hardcore fan until UZA (and then ofc I trawled through their history and fell in love). My kamioshi is Kojiharu but I also support Takamina and Sakura. HKT's probably my oshi group although I love specific members in AKB more.

Re: AKB fans in UK gather~ Well theres many non karaoke activities in London as well Many sites to see and many Japanese related activities here. There's a Japanese cake shop in Piccadilly, loads of ramen places, Japanese supermarket & bookshop and there's Tokyo Toys in Trocodero that sells otaku things. Chinatown, Leicester Square, Covent Garden are all near each other. There's also many parks like Hyde Park, Regent's Park etc etc. So karaoke, and then non-karaoke activities are welcomed Can join whenever Depending on when and how much notice, I could go up north too. But ofcourse London will be much easier for me.
Re: AKB fans in UK gather~ I've actually read the thread now, so to answer the three questions: 1. Where are you from in the UK? - Warrington (near Liverpool, Manchester) 2. How did you get into AKB? - I'd heard about them a long time before I listened to them... I only bothered to listen to them before I went to Japan the first time as I thought going to see their theatre show was a good holiday activity... that was around the Ponytail to ShuShu release. 3. Which members are your favourites? Watanabe Mayu. Then Kodama Haruka, Shimazaki Haruka (I think), and Oshima Yuko. Here was my last ranking, from about a month ago... ---------- I went to Hyper Japan once, and thought it really wasn't worth the time. Speaking of which, anyone going to C-ute and Japan Expo in Paris?

I notice there's one poster in Edinburgh! Anyway, onto the set questions: 1. Where are you from in the UK? Whoops, already answered this one kind of! I'm from Aberdeen though. 2. How did you get into AKB? I've been in the anime and games scene a while and I always liked listening to the OP and ED themes which, more often than not, were by idol units. One I started looking into them in more detail, it wasn't very difficult to stumble across AKB and so it all took off from there. 3. Which members are your favourites? Mayuyu is my number 1 I do like many other girls though. I often think of myself as an MD with a special preference. I just like the group too much, I suppose. Other favourites include: AKB: Aamin, Takamina, Renacchi, Yuko, Yui-han SKE: Rena, Yuria, Non, Akarin, Kuumin (I will always include her ;_ NMB: Nana HKT: Sakura-tan
