This news makes me wonder about the potential risks of being in the idol world, including 48/46 groups that we discuss here. Matsuno was only 18 years old, but (for example) do you understand how old Yurina Hirate (Keyakizaka46) is? She's only 15!
Still in total shock (I never followed the group). It's something I always feared (not just with the 48/Sakamichi Groups) but really with any idol. Since you never wanna see something like this. RIP Matsuno Rina .
Even Lovely Doll's new member Asahina Karen was aware of this. https://twitter.com/asahina_karen20/status/829194777086287873
This French-language Canadian news website TVQC (which incidentally often carries news of Japanese idols) has some videos both of the group and of Rina herself: http://www.tvqc.com/2017/02/rina-matsuno-deces-subit-dune-jeune-idole-japonaise/
This month (February 2017) is a horrible month for idol fandom. Yesterday, a group (Rev From DVL) breaks up, today, an idol (Rina Matsuno) dies. RIP Rina, may your soul rest in peace. I've never listened to Shiritsu Ebisu Chigaku but I like its band alterego, 5572320 (五五七二三二〇). if the video does not show watch the video here if the video does not show watch the video here if the video does not show watch the video here This MV hasn't been uploaded on English vevo of the group. Don't ask me which one is Rinanan, in this form they hid their faces. The group songs don't follow verse-chorus structure, similar to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody & Radiohead's Paranoid Android.
I'm writing a short story that deals with a paparazzi (and street racing; think Shutokou Battle/Tokyo Xtreme Racer), can anyone tell me how paparazzi (related to gossip magazines) in Japan work?
And... it has reached natalie.mu: http://natalie.mu/music/news/219922 It's just the 1st quarter of 2017, but it will be forever remembered as 2017's most shocking death in the entertainment industry.
That's really sad to hear. I hope her family will be left to grieve no matter how curious we are of the circumstances. The only other idol death I've ever heard of was a member of Country Musume, just before their debut. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hiromi_Yanagihara
Some say Rinanan dies because of extreme exhaustion. Prove that it's wrong. Cases of death due to exhaustion are found in sport such as Marc Vivien Foe & Dani Jarque but I've never heard similar in entertainment industry.
It's very sad news, I heard about it on twitter last night. The subject of exhaustion, both physical and emotional is one that (I think/fear) is both prevalent and very worrying for the idol business. I recall Shinoda Mariko commenting when she was an AKB member that she only got 2 or 3 hours sleep a night, Matsui Jurina collapsed on stage before and had to be hospitalized at least twice in 2012-13 due to exhaustion. Recently Haruppi broke down crying on stage during a performance allegedly because she had a reoccurrence of a back injury then last weekend she had to drop out of a handshake event due to "poor physical condition". I think most of the top senbatsu members in the 48 group are in danger of overwork. It wouldn't surprise me at all if members of the Stardust groups, 46-groups and others are in danger of exhaustion too. Members are always praised for how hard they work but proper rest, proper sleep and proper nutrition is vital to these girls as human beings too.
After that helium incident a year or so ago, I concluded that Stardust is just criminally incompetent at managing their own idols. I just hope that their bad decisions didn't indirectly cause the death of this other girl.
Ex SKE48 member, Shibata Aya, delivering the news about Matsuno Rina if the video does not show watch the video here Poor Aya
I remember hearing about that at the time, shockingly incompetent. Then a few months ago Yuzu Ando retired from Team Syachihoko after chronic "poor physical health" lasting at least a year.

Kyoka tweeted about Matsuno Rina. https://twitter.com/Kyouka_02/status/829515306645151745 Never knew that she still remembered her co-star.
Just in. Matsuno's cause of death was "doubt of fatal arrhythmia". https://www.daily.co.jp/gossip/2017/02/10/0009904600.shtml
I wonder what kind of medical exams those girls do on a regular basis. Maybe they should do the same ones as professional athletes? Or maybe clinical tests couldn't even have detected the problem. Enviado de meu XT1563 usando Tapatalk
I had an episode of ventricular tachycardia several years ago and had never been diagnosed before. I was hospitalized for a week in a coronary care unit, it was found that my heart was in good condition (they even did an angiogram (which is not a nice procedure) and my heart structure was fine), eventually I was diagnosed with an electrical problem in my heart. At the time I was working at lot of overtime and only sleeping 4 hours or so a night which brought on the episode.
