2012
- Together with her younger sister Chaeryeong, auditioned for Fantagio.
2013
- Went as a contestant on the Korean casting show "K-Pop Star 3" with ChaeRyeong
- Chaeyeon and her sister Chaeryeong were eliminated.
- They both joined JYP Entertainment.
2015
- On May 5, she and Chaeryeong went on the JYP casting show "SIXTEEN" that created the Korean girl group TWICE.
- She was eliminated in Episode 3.
- Left JYP Entertainment and joined WM Entertainment.
2018
- In June, made her first appearance as a candidate on the Korean idol survival show Produce 48 (she had been training for 4 years and 1 month now).
- On August 31st, came in twelfth place on the final episode of Produce 48 with a total of 221,273 votes. This meant she would debut with IZONE.
- Her official color is blue mint.
- On October 29th, officially debuted with IZONE and the album COLOR*IZ.
2019
- On February 6th, had her Japan debut with Suki to Iwasetai.
- Released on April 1st, adapted the lyrics for the Korean version of Gokigen Sayonara (originally released on Suki to Iwasetai, adapted for HEART*IZ.
2020
- In October, was featured as the Artist of the Month by STUDIO CHOOM.
2021
- On April 29th, IZONE officially disbanded.
- On June 11th, released a dance cover of Peaches by Justin Bieber.
- On July 12th, was revealed as a contestant on Mnet's upcoming dance survival show "Street Women Fighter".
- On August 24th, starred in the first episode of "Street Women Fighter".
- From October, appeared in "Cheating Trip" alongside Kang Hyewon and Jo Yuri.
