| Ayana (Shinozaki Ayana) and her husband Kondo are having marital problems. Her best friend Nanami tells her she needs to communicate, but Ayana has lost her will to speak up. The scene changes and shows a young Ayana (Omori Maho) at school when she first meets Kondo – his dad has recently passed away, and he's struggling to keep up with school work. She helps him study and misses a date planned with her friends Nanami and Kaori. Nanami and Kaori let Ayana know that they don't like being ditched for a guy and in order to prove that they matter to her, Ayana pushes herself past the limits, running on the track field. Synopsis

Each episode has a different plot, revolving around one of AKB48's songs every time. All members suggested a plot for one of the group's songs, and fans were able to vote for their favourite plot without knowing which member had written it. The winner was Better, written by Yamane Suzuha, and it will be aired as the final episode.

Natsuro and Yuiri meet up that night to say their good byes and he gifts her a demo of the song he's been writing - Heavy Rotation. In the meantime, Rina finds his lyric notebook at home and tears up reading them. Ayami comes to visit and the two of them make up. Natsuro continues writing lyrics on the bench where he first met Yuiri. Yuiri realizes her dream and dances solo on stage: the episode ends with the audience clapping after her performance and Yuiri shedding a tear. 9 Better It starts with Hinana waiting for the results of an idol audition, and Saho being one of the judges. Then, the story changes back in time to the past: Hinana, the popular girl, wants to become an idol. Suzuha, who enjoys taking pictures, witnesses Hinana sing at the beach and decides to support her. Hinana starts ditching her friends Orin, Minami and Megumi to have lunch with Suzuha instead. Jealousy keeps brooding, until the three of them eventually tell Suzuha to stay away from Hinana. However, it is Suzuha who finds Hinana crying about an audition and invites her to a sleepover at her home to take her mind off of things. 10 Better As Suzuha takes photos of Hinana at the beach, she thinks about the sleepover and how she nearly kissed Hinana, who was asleep at the time. Later, Suzuha's photos of Hinana win the grand prize, and also Hinana's friends finally come around, apologize to Suzuha and accept her as a friend. A talent scout finds the photo of Hinana online and invites her to an audition. She passes the first round, but struggles during rehearsals. A fellow group member, Ayu, supports her and they become friends. Suzuha is jealous but supportive of Hinana and her new friend, and thankful when Hinana gifts her a matching friendship bracelet. The scene from the start of the previous episode replays, and this time it is revealed that Hinana as well as Ayu passed the auditions. Saho pulls her aside, and the next scene shows Hinana telling Suzuha that she will be moving to Tokyo. Suzuha wishes her all the best and Hinana leaves, upset that Suzuha isn't sad about their parting. Suzuha follows Hinana and confesses that her heart is breaking and that she is in love with Hinana. Hinana kisses her and tells her she feels the same. Both in tears, they say their good byes and Suzuha tells her to always keep chasing her dreams. Hinana debuts, while Suzuha continues her photography, both of them always wearing their matching bracelets.
