If you say so, I'll can it. I'd started going in that direction because of your post where you said "As for Okada Nana, I believe her issue is that she won 3 years in a row". But I guess it's not as simple as people from other fandom disliking her wins like my simplistic approach and assuming made me think. Sorry for the trouble.
as i said, it's a 1 point difference, the smallest gap it can be, and i am talking about impacts in the future if people continue to do this in 2016 there were 413 voters, in 2017 there were 392 voters, this year there were 125. Less voters overall means that targeted strategic negative voting has the potential for greater impact and skewing of results compared to previous years, so yes, an increasing issue. anyways idk why some people even vote strategically for a ranking that has no prizes and is meant to just be a fun reflection of the forums overall interests, kinda takes away from that ill leave my points at that
The fact is Okada Nana only got negative votes from 5 people. Even if all of those people were Sakamichi fans, its an insignificant amount. And I doubt they were all Sakamichi fans. Its just as likely that they were 48G fans who were trying to push there oshis up. No one on the Sakamichi forums is even talking about this election. Sakamichi fans don't get worked up about elections the way 48G fans do and most people on those boards probably didn't even vote.
You appear to be confusing the number of ranked places with the number of voters. 2015 - 221 voters 2016 - 200 voters 2017 - 106 voters 2018 - 148 voters 2019 - 125 voters
Thanks. But, to be clear about that quote, I was talking about people not voting for her or giving her fewer points. I wasn't trying to explain why people voted negatively for her.
because i read it wrong still, the number of voters have dropped a lot, which would at least justify a review on the number and values of votes people can give even more so when considering the increase in number of idols we can vote on too which creates a further spread
To an extent. Fewer voters + more girls to vote for does mean votes tend to be more spread out and thus negative votes can have more of an impact than they did in years previously, especially in the middle ranks. I'd love to have a more flexible point-based system*, but I fear it's too complicated for the current method of vote-by-PM. * For reasons that will become clear if/when I post my final rankings.
Well, I've been keeping my promise to withhold the reveal of my Stage48 ranking for 2019 until ALL of the results have been revealed, and with that the case, here is my ranking listed below under the spoiler: Spoiler: My Stage48 ranking 1. (209) [4|2] [K46] Oda Nana{+14,-7}, 7 3. (-3) | 456. (384) [0|2] [H46] Iguchi Mao{+0,-7}, -7 4. (-2) | 34. (31) [17|8] [K46] Hirate Yurina{+101,-26}, 75 5. (-1) | 50. (47) [19|8] [SKE] Matsui Jurina{+80,-27}, 53 I'm a bit surprised that it's NOT Okada Nana taking the top spot, but two Nogi girls (Ikuta Erika, Saito Asuka) jointly claiming as winners! First time since the 2015 member ranking when there was a tie for first (also Okada Nana but shared by Watanabe Mayu). If it was based on points per vote average, then Ikuta would've won this one! I don't understand why there were more negative votes for Naachan than in the previous years. Anyways, I wasn't surprised when I saw several NGT48 members hit the bottom of the rankings for all the shenanigans back in 2019. I was surprised though that my top pick, Yamaguchi Maho, didn't rank as high as I expected, though a top ten is pretty decent. Given 2019 didn't have Maiyan center for any of Nogizaka46's two singles, I wasn't surprised that she was behind Saito Asuka (Sing Out! center) and Ikuta Erika. I'm a little bit surprised though that Sashihara Rino didn't rank as high as I expected (only 33rd, dropped from 24th!). I've been focusing more on Sakamichi groups than AKB48G in recent years though I still have been paying attention a bit in terms of the later. Spoiler And why did I forget to put Kashiwagi Yuki in my rankings???
My full ranking: 01. Higuchi Hina (+15) - 84 02. Shiraishi Mai (+10) - 4 03. Kitano Hinako (+9) - 38 04. Takayama Kazumi (+8) - 27 05. Matsumura Sayuri (+7) - 45 06. Akimoto Manatsu (+6) - 50 07. Nogi 4th gen climb on my ranking. Surprisingly, I put Saku higher than Saa-chan. Saa-chan and Yan still my 4ki oshi, but Saku's growth as an idol make me want to support her.
Here's my ranking: 01. Saito Asuka (+15) 02. Kashiwagi Yuki (+10) 03. Kojima Mako (+9) 04. Iwamoto Renka (+8) 05. Murayama Yuiri (+7) 06. Unjo Hirona (+6) 07. Ozono Momoko (+5) 08. Ota Yuuri (+5) 09. I gave negative votes to some and it was not for Top 5, but gonna keep it private. I think this will be the last year that I will give negative as I should just ignore the member(s) instead.

(35) [19|1] [IZN] Honda Hitomi {+107,-3}, 104 Sad Nako dropped, and also can't really understand why would anyone give her negative votes... Whatever. Mikurin is now higher than Nako in the Stage ranking which is interesting. Yuiri's jump is very expected, even though I did not think she'd be that high, pushing members like Sakura and Nanase. Congratulations to Shiori and Momoka for their jumps too.

I know Rika is a really controversial, but I'm curious, what made you give the other girls negative votes? Is this because of how she left AKB48 and went over to kpop? I've seen quite a few people get annoyed about the way she handled it I'm quite the fan of IZ*ONE, so I've been keeping track of votes to see who downvoted some of their members, but haven't seen anyone reveal negative votes for them. I generally haven't seen many negative vote revelations for international groups. Are the international groups' fans more lurkers? Incidentally, the post above mine is saying "I give some negative votes" but is not disclosing who they're for Obviously nobody's obligated to share their votes at all, but some people do reveal their positives and not their negatives
Full disclosure .... I totally forgot to vote myself, anyway going through the results I noticed one thing ok, that could be just 7 people casting negative votes ... but I really had the impression she was (way) more popular than this, are people annoyed at how she, after a mega push, just simply quit?
The [11|9] means that she got 11 positive votes (total 43) and 9 negative votes (total 35), so while the 35 could have been from seven people as 7 x 5 = 35, they weren't.
Well actually 9 people casting negative votes. I didn't vote for her either way, but I'd guess it's a combination of her dating scandal, being (openly) a very very very aggressive fisher (like standing on the street corner trying to lure people over, sweet talking the staff and seniors, etc.), shooting from KKS to AKB center overnight, and then leaving almost as quickly without much explanation. For me she was somewhere between "hmmm" and "I wish someone else was getting this attention", but I did like her in 最強ツインテール. @kanjo My 2 cents for the voting, I like things pretty much as they are as far as method, privacy, etc. If I could program my way out of a paper bag I'd volunteer a script with drop-downs and such for voting that would make it easier and probably boost participation. In the run-up to the vote maybe encourage people to post a message in their favorites' forum threads to say what they liked over the last year. For the negative votes, maybe if they were all -1 pt that would be better? It gives people a way to express public dissatisfaction with a member in the anonymous spirit of the poll, but raises the bar a little for how much impact you can have "strategically" with negative votes.
