I am quite positive about this too. I do think that fans of J-culture in general will receive the group well, I am just worrying about general public. And Vietnamese fans in the thread, where do you think the theater will be placed ?
speaking of general public since we have the same issues regarding about kpop dominating -- well obviously we will find a lot of haters/bashers - let's be tolerant and support/protect this girls in the future.
I just remembered another good song I wouldn't mind hearing in Vietnamese: The 48 Group Song. Lol. I don't know how to say it to make it worth that I am saying more than just the AKB48 Song (Team A's song that has been covered through all sister groups) if the video does not show watch the video here
Yass, we will have team O in the future . There is one vowel alphabet left that still empty in 48G'S team name, that is alphabet "I".
I can't wait to listen this song in vietnamese version. if the video does not show watch the video here Let's go SGO48, let's ignore the bad vibes of people about Vietnam and let's do our best. Let's go Vietnam!!!
OMGGG. As a Vietnamese who lives in Saigon I am excited. When i first saw SGO48 was thinking it was Singapore 48 but then it was SAIGON OMG!! 48 can be successful here if they got beautiful girls., really beautiful girls. I mean Vietnamese audience are suckers for beautiful girls.
I know that Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh dont differ much in terms of development. But are the entertainment business centered in Hanoi or spread between 2 cities? Cuz its not a good decision if the group is in Ho Chi Minh and all the national tv stations and production studios are in Hanoi
Wonderful the AKB48 Group. I'm very happy, I really like Vietnam. Next country? It's time for Europe, Russia maybe?
I do not know why but when I was coming back from college I remembered this song and when I got home and saw the news about SGO48 I connected the music to the group. As I said in the MUM48 thread, I really wish a group 48 in Kazakhstan. In Kazakhstan many people can speak Russian and Turkish so they could record some songs in the Kazakh language and a special track in Russian or Turkish and this is not a bad idea because k-pop is doing well there. if the video does not show watch the video here if the video does not show watch the video here Listen to these boy groups from Kazakhstan.
Enterainment industry in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) is much more active than in Hanoi. People in the North are more reserved; they tend to save money for future due to many aspects (natural condition, history, community...). People in the South are easy in spending money. Many soloists from the North moved to the South for a better career. The national TV station has the head-quarter in Hanoi, but the local stations and private entertainment companies in HCMC are very strong. The artists in Hanoi are more mainstream and attached to the public media. The artists in HCMC focus more entertainment and modern value.
I had predicted a 48 group in Vietnam but I thought it'd be Hanoi. So actually Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city in Vietnam. Pardon my lacking knowledge. But why it's named after Saigon, the city's old name? Is Ho Chi Minh City gonna be renamed back to Saigon as the influence of communism is decreasing in Vietnam?
I am Vietnamese, and honestly, I am worried for SGO48. The two main music trends in VN is US-UK and in a distance 2nd, K-pop. Sadly that does mean that SGO48 won't have it easy as other sister group. For the uninitiated younglings, Japan equal porn and anime, which shows up in every comment thread about J-idol (and/or K-idol even) in mainstream social media. Female sexualization and rape/sex jokes is rampant among guys from 16 above, which I would say is the main demographic they would need to focus on. Middle aged workers are not interested in idol culture, because most of them just escape from a economically devastating period after our war with US. Last but not least, K-pop had just only receive mainstream attention in the past 2 years, after more than a decade appearing and be ridiculed in VN. I'm scared to think how long would SGO48 be received as acceptable music. Of course, as an 48G fan, there's nothing I would want more than success for SGO48. Let's just hope Aki-P can work the same magic he did with AKB48 and make this a roaring success.
Does this means they have to fly to Hanoi for every public TV show filming tho, since thats the main method of promotion. The operation cost will be high. But yes, it makes sense to be based in Ho Chi Minh for group activities like Handshakes and Theater.
The national TV station (VTV) has an office in HCMC. Except very big events (e.g. Lunar New Year Eve), they can just stay in HCMC for recording. However, I do not think SGO48 can reach to national TV anytime soon, since they are not mainstream and not popular yet. The local stations and cable channels (e.g. HTV, SCTV) are pretty strong and influence the southern (main) market. Also, young Vietnamese watch most of the stuffs from internet.
I found a video on YouTube of a K-pop fan from Vietnam that announced the arrival of the franchise to the country. A lot of people from Vietnam have commented on the video although most are K-pop fans, but I do not understand what they are commenting on because I do not understand Vietnamese. if the video does not show watch the video here
The comments are quite diverse: - Some (obviously 48 fans) were happy about this news - Many had no idea about 48 concept and asked for clarifications - Some complained that there will be too many crowed groups: NCT then SGO - A few were unsure the group would succeed since Vietnamese are more familiar to soloists. One referred to P48 and hoped SGO48 will have better skills than Japanese contestants.
