Overview
- The group is based in the Setouchi region of western Japan. They had their own theater from 2019 to 2021 on a passenger boat called the STU48 GO. The boat began travelling across the Yamaguchi, Hiroshima, Okayama, Hyogo, Tokushima, Kagawa and Ehime prefectures in April 2019. Theater guests boarded and disembarked from the same port, while the boat cruised the local waters and the theater performance took place. The ship was officially decommissioned on May 23, 2021 due to impacts of COVID-19 Pandemic. All future theater performances will take place at venues across the Setouchi region.
- Since January 19, 2020 their current group captain is Imamura Mitsuki and the co-captain is Fukuda Akari.
Differences from other groups
- As of 2022, no teams have been formed in STU48. All other domestic sister groups have team structures, or have had them in the past.
- Unlike other sister groups, which have permanent theaters in their local area, STU48 has no permanent theater. They had a theater from 2019-2021 on a moving passenger boat. Future theater performances from 2022 and beyond will be held in rotating venues.
