- She befriended Aramaki Misaki during HKT48 2nd Generation auditions.
She used to be called "Yuriya-neesan" by members, due to her acting proper around them. But later she started wanting people to just call her Yuriya, as she doesn't find herself old enough to be called an older sister by her seniors.
She was known for her extensive love of cats she has together with her family. Her house is full of cat apparel and cat houses, the latter which fans gave her four of for her birthday. Also often wears cat ears and cat-inspired clothing.
- She owned 5 cats, describing them: "Reekun, the gluttous dad", "Miichan, the cool beauty", "Faachan, the spoiled brat", "Duachan, the quiet one", "Maachan, the clingy one".
- She had a 7gogo account called 'The Cat Room' together with Yamashita Emiri, where both often shared photos and videos of their cats.
