- She was removed from SKE48 Senbatsu for only one song, Okie Dokie
- For the time period she was not in Senbatsu, she began a campaign for herself in the theater, asking fans to make an "nnn" sound before cheering her name. Manatsu's fans began making longer "nnn" sounds in order to show her more support. Even though she has been in Senbatsu since Kataomoi Finally, fans still often refer to Manatsu as "nnnnnnnnnManatsu"
- Manatsu also cut her hair and changed her hairstyle to one with bangs because she was taken out of Senbatsu. She did this in order to show her commitment to being an idol.
- She is known for her love of strawberries. When Furukawa Airi drew anime-style pictures of the original Team KII, she would usually draw Manatsu as a strawberry with a face instead of as a girl.
- When she announced she would not participate in the 5th Senbatsu Election, she explained that she would prefer fans to show her support by coming to see her in handshake events instead of voting for her.
