She is a former member of Culture Club.
She auditioned for AKB48 because she admired Takahashi Minami. She wanted to join the entertainment world because she idolized Ayumi Hamasaki.
Her first nickname "Ucchi" was created by Akimoto Yasushi.
It took 678 days to be promoted. She performed as an under for each team during this time. In 2010 theater manager Togasaki Tomonobu said she had become a pillar of the kenkyuusei.
She practiced swimming, Kyokushin Karate, and soccer growing up. She did not have dance experience prior to joining AKB48, though.
- She demonstrated her karate skills in her AKB1/149 Renai Sousenkyo route. Her specialty is the upper roundhouse kick, and her favorite technique is the heel drop.
