- She was a runway model for "FASHION LEADERS real.4" held in Osaka in May 2016 before joining the group.
- She did not particularly like idols before joining the group, but she wanted to dance on stage. After learning this her sister encouraged her to participate in the Hiragana Keyakizaka46 audition. When Mei passed the audition, her sister cried in happiness.
- She is the first Sakamichi Series member from Nara Prefecture.
- She has a pet chihuahua named Tiara-chan.
- She is a fan of comedian Koyabu Kazutoyo.
- She is loud in private and in the dressing room, but usually quiet during variety shows.
- She titles most of her blog posts with just emojis, no words or phrases.
- She is close friends with Takamoto Ayaka. The two of them are called Ame (あゃめぃ) by other members and fans.
- They also have a duet song together, Yume wa Nansai Made?, which was included in Hinatazaka46's 6th Single.
- She is known for being the most athletic member of Hinatazaka46.
- She was nicknamed "The Cheetah of Nara" in school, where she was able to run the 50-meter dash in 7.6 seconds.
- She has a strong sense of balance. During the Kimi Shika Katan cheerleading hit single campaign, Mei served as the flyer (lifted member) for the formation. Kamimura Hinano, who served as a base member, commented that she struggled to hold Mei properly, and it was Mei's sense of balance that saved them.
- She is able to perform a number of tumbling moves such as the front handspring, which she demonstrated during the Konna ni Suki ni Natchatte Ii no? hit campaign and the Hinatazaka46 Live Online concert.
- She won first place in “KASUKE”, an athletic tournament segment of Hinatazaka de Aimashou.
- She was appointed as "DAZN AFC Qualifiers - Road to Qatar" support ambassador in 2021.
- She is one of the four idol members who were invited to compete in SASUKE 39 along with Murayama Yuiri, Sato Kaede, and Takiwaki Shoko, with various videos leading up to the tournament would feature the four idols participating.
- During her First Stage run, she failed at the 3rd obstacle, the newly modified Silk Slider, which only a few competitors would fail at throughout the tournament.
