The show was first announced on the 44th episode of AKB48 Sayonara Mouri-san on February 23rd, 2023. It would replace the time slot covered by AKB48 Sayonara Mouri-san. It was announced that the show would cover the journey of an audition for a new girl group, and contestants would include both AKB48 members as well as entirely unrelated contestants. The new group will be produced by Ichinomiya Yuki and have their own crown program alongside the debut.

Throughout March, promotional images of AKB48 members in the following order: Hirata Yuki, Chiba Erii, Oguri Yui, Tokunaga Remi, Yamauchi Mizuki, Sato Airi, Yamazaki Sora and Shitao Miu. On March 16th, a promotional teaser video with a preview of the title song Your Super Girl was released on all official social media platforms.
