- She has an older brother and an older sister. She says her older siblings scolded her often when she was young, as she would play pranks on them.
- She describes herself as an energetic child who loved to play outdoors. Whether it was at the park or in front of her house, she was always running around. Her favorite game was tag.
- In her kindergarten album she wrote that her dream was to become an idol. She did not remember writing this, and was shocked to look back at the album after becoming an idol.
- According to her parents, Yui always liked being around people, would immediately make peace signs or funny faces when she saw a camera, and liked to practice modeling outfits in front of her mirror.
- She has practiced hip-hop dance since 2nd grade of elementary school.

- On June 17th, at the 9th Senbatsu Election, ranked for the first time at #51 (Future Girls).
- On December 8th, received a concurrent position in AKB48's Team A.
