Team 8
AKB48's Team 8 (チーム8).
- Their team color is Dark Blue.
- Formed on April 3, 2014 and entered into indefinite hiatus on April 30, 2023.
- All members were fully transfered to the teams they had a kennin position with instead.
- They currently have no members.
- The concept of Team 8 is "idols who go meet you".
- Each member of Team 8 comes from a different prefecture of Japan. The members participate in live performances and handshake events and special performances in various regions of Japan and internationally. They went on a tour around the country to visit the 47 Japanese prefectures (Team 8 National Tour 〜47 no Suteki na Machi e〜). The tour started in 2014 and was completed in 2021. (By December 2017, Team 8 had visited a total of 34 prefectures and traveled 33,426 km.)
